Has anyone seen it done?? i have a ZJ sitting around collecting dust and a dream of dana 60s, 37s, and 25 plus mpg. I think the hardest part will be getting the guages working. any input would be greatly appreciated

I've seen a website where someone wrote about the swap but the URL isn't coming to me.
Try searching google.

i'd guess that if you are going that far out for a custom swap, you're going to do some custom gauges. I'd use some flat sheet in place of the cluster and select a set of matched gauges that fit my liking.

Re: cummins 4bt into a ZJ??

I'm in the process of swapping one into my zj right now....having some clearance issues, but it will fit. I did a little write up with some pics on the local forum http://www.wnyoffroad.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=871 As for the gauges, the factory speedometer, volt meter, coolant temp gauge, oil pressure, and fuel gauge will all work. The only thing that won't work is the tach, and I haven't investigated that issue yet because I can live without one for now....worse comes to worse, i'll get an aftermarket tach that gets its signal from the alternator.
