Moog - $116.00/pair from advance auto
Timken - $155.00/pair from amazon
im getting new 2006 TJ hubs for my WJ brake swap on my HP30
running 35"s
EDIT ----
Moog is same as National brand which is made in china
Timken is made in kentucky.. USA
both brands offer a 3 year warranty

i'm a fan of the timkens i have on my zj as well
I went with the Moog's before, they didnt last three years with 33's, mild wheelin and a winter salt environment.
thanks guys ! ill splurge and get the Timkens... 35"s , chromos, and all of that i need something that will last
Double check those Timken Bearings. I've seen plenty of Timken bearings (R&P master install kits) that were clearly marked "MADE IN INDIA."
I don't have a problem with it but for some it is a deal breaker.
I've had fine luck with both brands but I'd lean toward the timkens if they are in fact made by kentucky boys
just bought a pair of Timken hubs from rockauto.com
151.00 shipped
now im just waiting on my knuckles for the WJ swap... i sent them with the JKS spacers to my friends dad to get 440 TIG welded ... thats not gonna come apart hahaha
Shit when I first read your post I thought those were the prices PER hub, not for the pair. I think I paid around $120 for a Timken at Vato Zone back in the day.
yeah thats for the pair... about 70/each
Can't say anything about moot.
My friend has been running timken on his xj for about a year now. Beats the hell out of them. Hit a tree and fucked his axle up, but the hubs lived on.
They will be the next hubs I buy.

Timken here as well, I got 9 years out of my last set.
I cant find them sold in pairs....
I haven't had bad luck with Timken, myself. Although, I would highly recommend SKF Bearings. Very good quality and pack a 3 year warranty from Napa.
Timken, been around before WWII and great products, Amercian made. SKF is Swedish good but why not buy American. Moog, going into the toilet, I have been getting AC Delco (when possible) instead of Moog for rubber products. Timken is only bearings.
I personally haven't used the Moog unit bearings, but I can testify to the very high quality of their other suspension products. I guess it would come down to the price and availability for me.
I'm so glad you are bumping ancient threads to nutswing your favorite brands
Do WJ unit bearings have the flanged bearing retainers like the ones on JKs? In other words, can I run with a front shaft and not have the hub assembly separate? I have read that the flanged bearing retainers were added to the wrangler line in 1999.5 but I cant find any info about whether or not this change happened across the board.
I imagine the bearings themselves are captive. My question was more about if the bearings are contained between the "spindle" and "hub" with a swaged flange. UBs that arent "captive flange" rely on the axle nut to sandwich the bearings in place. This means if you remove, say, a broke shaft, then the "hub" will walk itself off the "spindle" meaning bye bye wheel.
Im curious about which type is used in WJ d30's
I'm not sure if the WJ unit bearings are any different engineering wise than TJ-ZJ-XJ unit bearings. Although I have a ZJ, I keep an outer in the Jeep to run if I ever break an axle. I've had to use it once, and I'm darned glad I had it.
It's really not a hardship to carry and use one, since you have to take the old axle out if it breaks anyway. Just put the spare outer in and put the nut back on bubba-tight. Why take the chance?
