Ok im new here but ive been lurking for a while though. I know... EAT SHIT !
Anyway, heres a couple pics of my ZJ. Bought it for $150. it was on its way to the scrap yard. Only thing i did to it was swap the wheels/tires, trim the fenders, changed the ujoints, made a rear bumper out of 2x4 .125 wall tubing for it and drive it.

    Heres the bumper i made...

Nice Idea with the bumper but it appears it leaves the tail lights a little exposed.

I'm not too sure I'd tow by those points either.

Those pics were actually taken the day before i cut those off and welded on some larger square shackle mounts.

As for the the bumper, its tucked in a little further because my future plans are for some tubing to run along the top of the bumper under the tail lights and wrap around the quarters and over the wheel openings and tie into the rock sliders ill be making. Sort of an exo cage on the lower half. Didnt want the tubing out there too far if the bumper is out there.

Man it looks really nice but being an accomplished welder I have to comment, If you add some more weld to the seam in the middle and do a fair amount of grinding and buffing it would erase that weld and look 1000x better, well worth the extra effort imo. Not trying to diss you still looks great.

I actually really like that bumper design. It hugs the body well and fits the lines of the car. Nice work.

Nice looking rig, especially for what you have invested so far. What did you do to make those bends on that bumper?

With some strategically placed pie cuts on the inside. Bends right over.

Saved to desktop for future use. May try a similar design on my wj. What material did you use? Looks like 2x4? Wall thickness?
