Sold the audi thank god got this didn't wanna show anyone a stock wk but here it is so far...
As it sits right now 2 inch daystar some spacers and some gadgets inside with some 32 inch bfg all terrains. Hopefully super lift it one day and stroke the motor or supercharge it. Yes it is clean please don't burn me alive!
Clean. Did your wj have the 4.0 or 4.7?
Check out the new bumper for it, pretty sick w/ a winch mount. Just need to chop off the silly ifs and throw in a 44 and your set to go.
The WJ had the 4.0 and I don't miss it a bit now having the correct 8 cylinders, and don't tempt me to have the first solid axle wk.
Yeah, I bet the 8cyl is nice. If and when my 4.0 dies I am going to grab a junkyard 8 and swap it, maybe even the ho if I am lucky.
My vote is to do it. The ifs will be the expensive part when taking it to the next lift height. Save the dough and do it right with a nice new SAS!!
Nice rig. Surely someone has sas'd a wk by now?
Yea dem fenders will look real nice with some trimmin. It is nice that the wk got some non dwarf szed wheel openings unlike the zj and wj.
Looks clean.
I'm waiting for the first DubKuggy thread though
I don't know if anyone's done SAS on a WK yet, I thought it was a first gen Liberty that had the front axle transplant.
Depending on how extreme you want to get, IFS w/ QDII can get you into (and out of) a lot of terrain and you can fit 34s pretty easily. I've found the main limit to my WK is the undercarriage - sometimes the bits under there are just a little too close to the ground. (The stock front bumper is kinda limiting too, but I've replaced that so that's not a problem.)
If you don't know already, the best source for WK armor is 4xguard.com. I'll be testing some front swaybar quick disconnects for Russ (the owner of 4xGuard) in the next week or so.
Welcome to the world of fucked up fender gaps, blind spots when backing up and 13mpg
What year is it? Looking at the center stack, grab handles, e-brake handle, no backup sensors or camera I'd guess 2005. Looks really clean! You can do a HIR headlight upgrade easily.
Mine is a 2006. I wasn't going to do anything to mine but drive it, but I ended up getting the steering wheel recovered in two-tone leather (and made it thicker), replaced the e-brake handle with a leather wrapped one, SRT8 pedal covers, Mercedes shift knob, Commander front springs, Bilstein shocks, AEV Pintler rims, bi-Xenon headlight conversion...
I just can't leave anything alone
Ordered the hir bulbs yesterday! You only get 13 mpg? im averaging right around 15 with the bigger tires though I have learned to stay out of the throttle and yes 2005 is correct way to go. Have any pictures of your wk? what do the commander springs do for your and lets see that headlight swap!
It's okay to not leave things along, if you can't fuck it, fuck with it.
I have to admit there are a lot of things that draw me toward the Dub-K. More than I would have expected.
They really are sharp vehicles, and even with the IFS they've impressed me more than once.
The autolocker makes situations like this a piece of cake...well, after you pick leather out of your butthole
Right Tom?
What vendor did you order your HIR lamps? Are they already modified or will you have to modify them?
Yeah, my mileage sucks. 31" Wrangler SilentArmors and a heavy foot doesn't help. That and I can only get E10 gas around here which really cuts down my fuel economy. My driving is mostly around town too.
I have the towing package on mine which has stiffer springs in the back, so the rake was horrible. The first time around I replaced the rear springs with SRT8 springs to level it out, which it did, but the tire/fenderwell gap in the back was significantly smaller than in the front and it looked really bad. So then I reinstalled the original rear springs and replaced the fronts with springs from a Commander Limited w/Hemi. It leveled it out slightly and the tire/fenderwell gap is now acceptable. I can see the front/rear gap differences on yours in the pictures. It looks like they put the pucks on the front but not the back.
I did the STR8 mirrors too. Despite what others have said on other message boards, they do come apart. Since the SRT8 never came in Midnight Blue, I took them apart before taking them to the body shop to get painted.
That should be my new sig.

Id never had any of my other rigs on three wheels but I did it with the WJ on my third wheeling trip. Talk about pucker... Yikes
Nice Wk's Tom and Curt. I was gonna get some wheeling pics because it was on the way back from some trigger time but learned all my favorite local trails are now closed. The wonderful city of mine closed them due to the "water shed protection act". I'd just like to thank the ass holes who runied it for all of us. Anyone know of anything close to Harrisonburg? Everything in the GW national forrest is now on lock down.
My long travel independent suspension on my ZJ could easily keep all 4s on the ground
Its a sleeper.....dont let this pic fool you.
