Ouch... I've done about 500km (about 300 miles) and still have all the nibs on mine. Do you think it's the tires. or alignment?

Thats what I did on mine and works really good. Just slice between the spot welds and all is good. Make sure to make more cuts where the fender curves or you'll get some waves (ask me how I know).

I was gonna suggest it for the front too, but then I read you already did your trimming. I sliced and rolled the front and when the wheel was stuffed and turned it still caught. So I ended up slotting the front fender mounting hole (front and under) and pulled the front fenders out an extra 1/2", give or take. No more rubbing at full stuff with stock bumpstops and no trimming.

its easy but you have to move your charcal canister (mines just sitting under the hood), and the passanger side looks funny with the horns so i will move those some day

Move the horns before they fill up with mud and make weird sounds.
Having the sides of the bumper chopped makes a ZJ look beefer for some reason.

hey, this is what i did in the rear for clearance, just thought i would give you an idea.
    before

    after

a closer look by the door

no welding... i made relief cuts all the way around, and swigpressed the extra metal under to seal it. it worked out well. my 35's don't rub at all
