i was just joking, i ended up not building it anyways cause my friend with the welder is going to be in arizona for the summer and we ran out of time after we built my sliders.

but i was just going to make a rear crossmember and a tie a piece of sheet from it to the stock front crossmember...i got that idea from puma...but its also pretty much what claytons belly skid is as well.

does it make it hard to drive? rock back and forth like a bad VC on a 249, or does it just cause some spinning of the tires on tight turns.

chad, no it isnt removable without a sawzall...

Derek it acts just like anyother vehical with a spool.... the tires slip in corners, not hard to drive... very predictable, hardly noticable if you make your turns wide.

the only traction control ive been used to was my old mans f250 with locking front hubs in 4lo. that sucked.

yeah the 8.8. im just getting all my parts ordered to get this sucker on the jeep.

mini spools seem to be easy to find, and pretty cheap. heck, id pay the 85 bucks im looking at just not to have to line those spider gears back up and make sure everythings in place. and havin to replace these every couple years isnt too big a deal.

What about if you take a corner fast?
A spool is a shit load cheaper then a Detroit but I don't want to fly around a corner one day and slide into another vehicle or do a 360.

No fast but I do take the odd corner at 20-30kph, no fucking clue what that is in mph but it's not that fast imo.
I'd adjust my driving of course but I'm sure I'd still take the odd corner at 20.

Pics are with front wheel drv only

Think i need stiffer rear springs, the RE 3.5 fronts flex way to much.. the front has no chance to flex at all

Rear coil buckets are done... need to clean up the punch seem and paint them

Still need to order SYE and rear DS but it was put on hold becuase i bought a new DD

Its a 1994 ZJ with the 5.2 and...

    102,000 miles
    Cold ac
    Stock
Clean interior (besides theft damage that will be fixed next week)

The guy was tryin to sell it for 2500 but the night before I went to look at it someone tried to steal it.

They broke the ignition switch all to hell, broke the clear gauge cover, and Fucked up every door lock cylinder on the thing

I ended up talkin the guy down to $1,800

Today I put new ignition switch ($30) and replaced a fuse and it fired right up, the rest of the broken stuff Im gettin off goose2125 on here.. super cool guy.

Also today i had a chance to look it over better.. I have no clue how i looked over it but it has no front DS.. WTF..

We all know about the 249 and no front shaft.....

It drives fine without it but im thinkin thats because the 249 is prolly shot already and someone took out the shaft to stop the bucking in the corners. No biggy as i planned on gettin rid of the 249 anyway

Plans for the dd are to keep it simple

    2"bb
    235/75R15's
    Swap 249 for 242 hopefully or 231
Lock the d35 and once the tcase is swaped lock the 30
    Tune up
    CCC Treatment

It will be used for camping and whatnot

Im hoping to get atleast 16mpg on the highway

The only thing better than 1 ZJ is 2 ZJ's. The build looks good nice find on the DD.

How thick of steel did clayton make that belly skid out of? Can you get any measurements off of it?

Sooo Ive been putting this thing off for a few months because of the new dd but I did alittle tonight

    But no pics... lol

I reinstalled driveshafts, and lowered it down to 5.5" for now.

I still plan on ordering the sye and goin 7" but dont need the 7" for my 34's

I drove it up and down my street and the rear ds seems to work fine at 5.5 so thats good. Ill take it on the highway tomarrow.

    Ill get pics tomarrow

I need to order longer brake lines, and make some temparary limit straps before I do any "real" wheelin.
