I forgot to say, NICE ENGINE!
What is price for rebuild kit for 318 in USA?
I think my engine will need rebuild... My oil pressure is acting strange. I must replace oil first and then we will see. But anyway I`m looking excuse to take V8 out and rebuild it.
Don`t know why
Because 14 bolts don't have a centered diff. From the 14Bolt bible:

A lot of other rear axles (i.e. 8.8, most D60s/D70s, etc.) don't have centered diffs. None of them, to my knowledge, are offset enough to cause any driveshaft angle issues.
As for why it's like that. I'd speculate that in the original vehicle(s) the axle came in, that diff location offered the "straightest" angle between the pinion and the tcase/transmission output. It's probably a lot easier for the car designers to offset the diff than to offset the entire drivetrain (which could throw off weight bias and/or be physically impossible to do) to get ideal driveshaft angles. Again, this is just speculation, so take it with a grain of salt.

i am use to seeing them center like a dana 60 the main reason why i was askin is because the diff of that 14bolt does look like all the ones ive seen it looks like a front diff i could be wrong ill ask more about at the 4x4 shop in town
Haven't shown my face here for a long while, guess I can update this
Lets see, the transmission blew 2 years ago and I parked it because I was tired of fixing it. 6 months ago I pulled it out of storage and threw a new trans in it
First thing I did was threw on some new tires and wheels with a shallower backspace
After that I started on a few projects
Rhinolined the tub
Installed some race craft seats with harnesses (no shoulder bar yet, will be chopping it up in a month or 2 for full buggy)
Grant steering wheel with quick disconnect hub
Started on beadlocks today
One done
New parts
5.38 gears F&R
Install kits
D44 locker
sending unit flange for fuel cell (thats for anther post )
and finally I got a tow rig
2004 F250 King Ranch with the 6.0 powerstroke
More to follow tomorrow
Welcome back homo, chits looking good.
Just read every page. Love your build up, and that new tow pig looks great!
Got the Beadlocks done, time will tell if they leak. Need to throw some airsoft bb's in them when i get a chance
Had to weld up old valve stem hole and drill a new one ( can see the old hole to the right)
Extended stems should make servicing easy
Installed
Also snapped some pics of my New stubby front bumper and lower radiator support. I raised the radiator an inch (along with fenders and hood)
I will be adding a winch and fairlead in the future and tucking it behind the bumper
to me this is one of the best rigs on here.....may just be cause it looks just like mine tho lol

gotta get some motivation to work on this thing, Vote for the Heep plz? Haha
I love the bumper you have in post 407.
Gives me ideas for mine.
Love the Rig.
Yearly update haha
broke a front shaft
Got alloys for pass side and got rid of the cheap joints and went with spicer 760's
Did some more frame plating, cut out inner fenders, relocated batteries, tore out all the shit I don't need and stripped wiring harness, pics speak for themselves
Dude, come to Texas and help me finish mine. You're only 1 state over...
I'll be keeping a eye on this for ideas if I decide to no keep mine full bodied
The last post by the OP has made my day!

What's wrong with your 4-Link?
Nothing is wrong with the 4 link, it's staying as is. Besides some stretching
1/4 elliptical rear?
