I had a blast nice meet some new faces. I didn't take any pics but I'm sure some one here did.
I broke a front u-joint on the axle shaft which broke the upper and lower ball joints.

I give a big thanks to sudz,1badzj and Tom for helping me fix my rig.

one of the best times i ever had wheelin! - rock band, glow stick war, killer trails, bear in the campsite, quick sand, mud holes, rigs of every size & shape, a bigtime trail recovery at night and the list goes on...

    i won a hi-lift & the grand prize, a winch

lots of stories from this one, all good

Sudz...nice pics. Glad to hear you, 1badzj, and tony w/ the bronco had a great time. Sounds like ya'll might show up again next year. Thanks for posting a couple of pics. Try and post of some of the wheelin pics ya'll took down in trickle, etc. Even though I didn't get my rig together in time, I still have a blast just hanging out, etc. I'll have my rig there hopefully both june and Sept. Bruce and Beerman will let us know which time GSE will be but I plan on wheelin both events. Keep the pics coming...

    Sudz an all,

I am not going to comment on what is being said on the Big Dog Forum. Just over here since this involves one of our own, a GSE participant. I have been in communications with John and this was his reply to me.

"Ron got hold of me today via phone and we talked. I told him I would look into it. I needed to get the facts from him and then I'm going to my sponsor where I purchased it and get his facts. After my investigation I'll recontact him.

I'm not going to let Ron get stuck with what appears to be a useless winch. I will have the sponsor make good or I will make good. He is not going to get stuck.

    Give me a week. JH"

Sudz, Give John a chance, like he said he will make good.

Ouch, broken knuckle/ball joint on that white ZJ? Sucks that somebody got hosed on the winch deal too.

I got a knock on my front door last night at around 10:45 p.m. It was pouring rain outside. (I live just north of Trenton, NJ – 32 miles east of Philadelphia, PA)

    It was John Hunt!

I thought to myself either this guy is crazed or he’s an extremely passionate fella. John was here to deliver a new winch to replace the one I received at the Main Jambo. John made good on his promise to make sure I didn’t walk away from the Big Dogs ride feeling like I got screwed. He also stayed in touch via telephone during the last 2 weeks.

Shortly after I got home from Cove, a couple of attempts to reach John by phone and email were unsuccessful. Feeling shafted, I hastily resorted to posting my discontent on Pirate4X4 and the Big Dogs forums. In hindsight, that was a bad decision and certainly not deserved by John or the Big Dogs crew.

Kudos to John for being a standup guy and going WAY beyond the norm to mend an unpleasant situation. I still can’t believe he drove from his home near Baltimore, MD (after work) to Winchester, VA (to pickup the winch) then drive it north to deliver it personally! On top of that, he had a 2 hour + drive home! WOW

John, my apologies for not giving you ample time to respond. Lesson learned and hopefully this won’t tarnish BDO’s good reputation and track record.

    Thanks Again…

    -Sudz

BTW, I did have a helluva good time at GSE ‘06 (first time BDO attendee) and met a bunch of great folks.
