I love this project.
Get cracking Tim, summer is almost over!
Looking good though!
Trans mount is straight baller! I saw it in person and it looks factory!
Factory = weak
Can't wait to see it finished Tim.
Not much has been finished on the ZJ in a while; I have been busier than normal. I did get my shifters and shifter knobs finished though.
I drilled and tapped a 34mm impact socket to use as my NP435 shifter.
Drilling and tapping the hardened steel was ridiculous (it took forever!) but I am happy with the way it turned out.
I also drilled and tapped the solid rod I used for the D20 shifters and 249 reduction box to use deep well sockets as the shift knobs.
Dana 20 twin sticks:
249 reduction box shifter (right now it is 1:1)
I drilled and tapped ¼” NC then ran a hex bolt + washer from the top. I did a taper in a square shape on the bench grinder so the 3/8” drive sockets do not wobble at all.
Longer through bolt on the drive train rear mount:

Your shifters have a lifetime warranty! Nice.
Plus, if you carry the allen wrench with you, you'll have the sockets handy if you ever need them. Nice way to conserve space in the tool box.
Nice place to put spare sockets.
nice build, im planning a 231 to d300 doubler now for the wj , i cant believe i never read up on this build till now hahah , nice shifter knobs
