Hell's Revenge and Gold Spike are difficult?
I could show you obstacles/lines on both trails that you wouldn't dare to try. It's only as difficult as you make it.Originally Posted by nate
I did not rate the trails, those are the ratings from the GSW and Moad sites. Now take a deep breath ...Originally Posted by nate
Just a quick note - we're thinking of adding a second trail on Sunday for a little variety. However (until the rabid greenies take all our access away) you're welcome to create your own little group and run whatever trail you want.
Dunno. Only things I didn't try was Escalator and window maker, and there's that one on Golden Spike that leans you into the rocks, forget the name... didn't do that cause we were trying to get home pretty fast.
I tried driving up white knuckle. Would be been able to make it I think, but no one else wanted to go and I didn't want to seperate from the group. It was fun though, don't get me wrong.
Alaska trails are alot like moab with steep hills, etc, but then you have to throw in sloppy mud that has little traction. Was cool to drive on "paved" trails.
Before gonig to Moab I thought the trails were more "buggy only"... I didn't know you could take stockers down most of these trails.
there are lots of buggy only trails. You just found yourself on some where the only diffcult areas are bypassable. You can do some cool things when there is traction. There are some areas where you can't even believe people actually drive up it
I was very impressed with my Jeep as well. I don't know it's because it was heavy, tires, perfect wheelbase, or what, but it worked awesome. I went up a spot that a few buggy's before us had trouble. I drove up it like there was nothing there.
It was funny because there was a crowd and a few people where like WTF?
I agree there are lots of spots you can get in trouble in with something not setup right. If I have more of a buggy, I would have played more on those. But with a full bodies rig, with no cage, plus wanting to keep it looking decent, I watched other people roll instead
This is OFF TOPIC, but ... Repeatedly as a n00by, I have taken my ZJ smoothly up hills and steps that YJs, CJs, and TJs [not Tijuana BC] stumbled or struggled to get up. People keep asking me if I am a professional driver. I cannot claim that it was skill, other than I have learned to never spin tires on snow and it apply that to dirt and rocks when offroading. I conclude that the raised ZJ has a superior design and wheelbase.Originally Posted by nate
yup. Just a wheelbase thing on climbs. Spend enough time on the trail and you'll soon see lots of obstacles that get your goat but and the SWB guys dance through.Originally Posted by OverkillZJ
