When you replaced the 42re with the AW4 did you solve the problem of the CEL coming on, or just ignore it? I ask because I'm trying to put one in mine but I can't pass smog with a CEL on.

no smog here but last time i checked i hade around 15 codes tripped probly more now been a year sence the last time i ran codes. So yeah I put the sticker that came with a lockright (warning this veh.) over the light.

when they do smog do the check codes? or just look for the light to come on and off? If so why not just wire the light to another dash light that comes on in the same sence. problem solved.

Here in California they check codes, put a sniffer up the tail pipe and if you live in a heavily populated area even put your vehicle on a dyno as part of the smog check. The last time I had it done about a year ago the battery had died the night before and I didn't think anything of it. They did the whole test just to tell me at the end that I failed because my computer was storing a code that it hadn't relearned the engine yet, so I had to pay to do it all over again in a week.

Old jack started this one night. came to the shop lit up dropped a new blade in the saw and cut the driver corner out. then it sat for 2 weeks.

I found a crack in the uni-frame about 5" long between the steering gear and track bar mount so i will be sleeving it and running brace acroos to the passenger side. then tubing most of the front. I want to tube around the windshield but dont want the whole exo.

It's real nice having a shop now. can work on the bucket when ever i want instead of when weather is good or during daylight hours.
