Is anybody runnin 15" rims on there WJ ? I was wondering if there is any issues clearing the calipers.
I ran 15x10 rims (w/35"x12.5" tires), not sure what the BS was but it was a tight fit, had to slightly shave the caliper a bit but it did work. I have since gone back to a 16" rim just to get that extra clearance.
Steel 15x8 with 3.75" BS works fine. AL wheels that size will just rub on the new style caliper, too close for comfort.
Yea. My spare is a 15x8 with 3.75" of backspacing. I thought it would be too close since I have 4.75" of backspacing on my wheels now, but I put it on and there is plenty of room.
So 15's will clear the Teves calipers but not the Akebonos??
I run the same size as John. A steel wheel in those dimensions clear both styles of WJ calipers. I run Unique/Cragar steelies.
Steel is what makes 15" wheels fit. The steel wheels are thin enough that they don't get in the way of the calipers... but no way 15" aluminum will fit.Originally Posted by Pitch
