I'm well practiced in removing it on my own =P.
I took my dads drivers seat today, there are some harness differences between the seats (his being heated and such), so as of right now I have a good seat with the heaters not working and the seatbelt light on right now. I also got his gauge cluster - the style that the whole gauge face lights up. I like it. I stole the grill off his brand new jeep also as he liked his older one better. I removed the bug reflector for grins also. The jeep looks WAY better from the front now, I like the new grill a lot.

Well I got the tranny off the dead dub up in my truck, i fuckin HATE doing trannys on these things now. I gotta steal the pass side seat and the rear glass then I think I have all of it that I want =D

Well today I took the rear glass and pass seat from the old WJ. I also pulled the front axle back about 2/3", and cut the ends of my bumper to match the fender lines and clear the tires, I have a few pics ill put up sometime.

Alright here are some pics AFTER I pulled the axle back but before I trimmed up the bumper. Running a low backspacing KILLS space in the fender when turning =/ my scrub radius is ridiculous. maybe 2.5" BS is too low lol.

Mmmm look at that sheetmetal that's torn up the tire.
Full right lock right front tire, probably 1/2" clearance.
Rear axle needs to go back 1/2-1", I have room to cut behind it also BUT its not touching in the pic.
Always more work to do =P

How big are your front bump stops ?
Are your coils bowed a bit with the axle that far forward ?
When you getting the new tires?

No front bumpstops =P
The coils stay pretty damn straight, the ballistic bracket kit offcentered the coil on the axle a little more I think so it works well =P
The tires are if/when I come across a good deal, these rims are just too fucked up to use on the street.

its not max, but close. Shocks have maybe an inch left. I really need to tinker with the rear though, it doesnt flex for shit even without a swaybar. Most of the prob is the shocks, I need to inboard them or something.

so how much forward from stock did you move the front axle?? I'm curious because i will be installing my kit next week, so it would be nice to know where your at.

Greg, i couldnt tell ya. The ballistic brackets dont hang nearly as low as factory brackets and arent even close to the same front to back. My clayton only have probably 2/3 on an inch of threads showing on the front lca's

Hah im pretty happy with the ssrs except for how screwed my rears are, and i hate mud so thats fine with me haha.
The sliders are sitting next to my house waiting for the mounts to be rebuilt and reinforced. Ive just been lazy about it because they arent required for snow wheelin haha.
Sometimes looking at the list of things that still need to be done to be really satisfied with the truck is depressing lol

I've got a TON of parts waiting for the 9" to be done and then there are all the parts for the d30 to get it up to par. Now i just need the funds to get it welded up. Never done....

So I pulled the dub into the garage today for a planned downtime. I'm trying to knock out a lot of the work that I have left to do while its in.
So far I dropped the hitch and tank, and pulled the shocks. I built a tunnel for the fuel hoses to run through in the cab so I'm not getting any fumes (exhaust also) into the cab. I'm going to be inboarding the shocks, and I'm planning on bustin out the grinder and taking some body off behind the rear wheel wells so I can build a bumper that is tucked up higher than most on WJ's. I've got some good ideas going for how to build a bumper off the hitch now so I'm hoping to get that done also. I'm going to roll and seal my rear fenders, and I'm going to be grinding some of my old welds off the claytons and rewelding as some are pretty boogerish and it scares me.

Having issues with my FTP client, I'll get pics up soon.
Got the fuel tunnel completely finished up, and painted it and the new floor black. When the time comes, I'm going to throw some RTV around it to seal it off completely, but I'm not working with big gaps so I'm happy.
I also figured out how I'm going to be doing my rear shock mounts, I'm making a new mini crossmember right infront of the rear coils for shock mounts. I should be able to go from almost vertical @ ride height to severely triangulated if I wish. I'm keeping them as upright as possible.
And lastly, I pulled one of my rear coils out and dropped that side all the way down to see how much bumpstop I'm going to be needing, looks like only 2-3" and I've figured that out so I'm happy with how its all going. I'll get back to it on wed or fri, we'll see.
As for my rear bumper...the more ideas I get the more will have to be cut off the rear...its almost scaring me...almost. If I can pull off what I have in my head...it should be quite the badass bumper. Tucked up SUPER tight with possible internal storage.

Alright got my pics up, heres what i've been up to!
Then while finishing it up Darwin attacked me, nice baggy clothes. When it did this it bound the trigger against my arm also, so it didn't let off...I had to unplug it lol. Scared the piss outta me but i didn't even get a scratch.
Starting to look good
Then, looking into adding bumpstoppage, this is tire at FULL stuff, up in the fender. Should be a peice of cake to lengthen that.
And some unibody supports for my new mini-crossmember for the shocks

I know man, angle grinders scare the shit outta me. I have a buddy who was cutting some tubing for a cage when the cutoff wheel pinched and launched the grinder out of his hands, putting a horizontal cut across his forearm about 3/8-1/2" deep. It knicked the tendons for his fingers 0.o.
But at the same time, they are one of the most versatile tools in my box.
