Ok well I got my jeep...about 2 years ago from my dad. It's my first vehicle, and he thought it was about time for another jeep (hes a forester, beats his jeeps lol). It had ??? miles on it when I got it, but it has 184k now on the original everything. Anyways i started out lookin around jeepforum and stuff, got interested in offroading, as well as my sisters fiance is a hardcore yota guy so...getting teh bug from 2 sides at once. For my first lift I searched around for a while, and decided on the 4" shot arm by RockKrawler about a year ago. My decision was based alot on price, as my parents were paying for some of it and had a word in what I would be getting. Anyways, I got 285/75R16 MTR's to go with my new lift. In a weekend i got everything apart, and my new lift in yay! Lots of rubbing at first, tore the linings out of both my wheelwells and both teh pumps out of my washer fluid reservoir. Anyways, I still ahve the bug, Im taking a welding class and my brother in law is a very experienced welder...and now im looking at custom long arms and 35s. Ive been out on the 'con once, going out to moab this summer, and do generla wheeling whenever I can. Without further ado, here are lots of pics.

    Uncles ranch, fun shot.

    Poser shot, testing flex

    Side view

Extended bumpstops would be nice (still dont have em) This is where i tore the lining and 2 pumps out of the washer reservoir.

    Now to the 'con:

    Only cool trail pic

Brother in laws truck back then (since then SAS, dual tcases, and 36" tsls)

We went during spring. Thats not a good time to go, as things are muddy and WET. Went up on a rock, slid off it sideways into a tree

I think i dropped REALLY hard on the front of my slider...or it was like this i dont know. Either way new sliders coming soon (with LAs)

Only had a slider on 1 side...long story. Heres the other side

Notice the rest of the rocker...no smooth section lol (all that damage is from when my dad had it)

Like i said earlier...it was wet (AKA deep water)

Tcase rear output leak from the trip

In this pic (again) you can almost see the waterline, right above the cladding. I dont like water

    Off the con, random stuff

Grossest mud EVER. Dried like herculiner...

    Again...gross

    The source of it

Until my updates...ENJOY AND THANKS FOR LOOKING

Some new additions. Replaced my bent tie rod (and ends) So I now have a trail spare. Also did a LOT of work on my bumper, though it still isnt complete yet its lookin alot better.

The images make the bumper look wider than shit. Don't worry, it isnt. It only extends about an inch wider than the fenders on each side.

Also today I was over at my brother in laws with his hydraulic/pneumatic tube bender....so nice. Anyways I got some tube bent up to widen my sliders appx 5". They were tucked in way too close to the body before, buddies couldnt stand on it in off camber situation, and the body hit first in every situation but vertical contact.

Gonna run tubes from the bumpers to the sliders?!? Then cut off the fenders to wide them out?

Have you added gussets behind the bumper on the new sections you added or are they going to crush the first time they hit rock?

up until the first bend it is already very sturdy. I am going to run another triangle out to the furthest outside bend, and also the top of the new section is going to have some 3/8ths inch plate welded to it for most of its strength. Its going to be very durable. Also, I dont know if i told you of my idea, but running tubes from bumper to sliders is exactly what I intend to do...when I get around to it =P

Alright, got the real stuff going on now. This is going to be a speedy version up till now.

Pulled a D44 from an '81 full sized Cherokee. 64.5" WMS to WMS, perfect.

Got it home (OMG its hard to move a fully assembled one of these bitches on your own)

Insides, I couldn't have gotten luckier:

Basically from there I got it all stripped down, all the paint off (this is semi-clean, but paint still on:

I got some 4.56's to install in it, heres a quick summary of how it went:

First Pattern - Pinion too shallow, pinion preload too high:

Second Pattern - Great pattern, preload good, too little backlash:

Third pattern - Backlash within spec, pinion too deep

Almost ruined the gearset because of metal shavings on the pinion threads-

Final setup - Pattern OK, everything within spec.

And now to where I am today - Ballistic fab's LCA/Shock mount/Spring perches welded up, UCA ready, pulling the D30 to do a mockup install and to get some bracket locations settled.

if the drivers side hub is noise-free and in good shape i would like to buy it
On a side note, where did you buy your shovel? It seems to be holding up really well for the big hole you keep digging for yourself.

Got all the brackets welded on except TB, modified the draglink to fit the current WJ TRE's, now I have to shorten it a few inches (I couldn't have shortened the section I put on) What I'm going to do is cut about 3" out and grind both ends into like a cone-shape, so I can have weld all teh way through instead of just a butt weld. Then sleeve it and weld up the sleeve.

Would you guys have any problems running this? (Below): 4 holes drilled for spot welds, then welded the end as well.

And all of the brackets done except for track bar:

actually they are pretty damn versatile (sp). I really like how they turned out. I bolted them to the arms, then tack welded them all to the axle tubes exactly how I wanted
took the axle back out and burned 'em home. I also like the shock mounts as well. Everything turned out pretty damn well.

The brake line issue, was just a problem waiting to happen. I was using the stock d30 brake lines, which include the hard line and bends for that caliper, so the bends were all sorts of wierd.

I can get pics tomorrow, the jeep isnt actually at home right now =P
