dude. i'm sure you'll find out as i did but everyone is super cool there. Its amazing how you can talk to people on the net and when you see them in person its liek you'veknown them al yoru life.
I have met a few of the guys online before and they are all really cool. I have spoken to some of the guys on here on the phone as well and the same thing, all very cool.
Luckly I don't get the drunk phone calls from you though. hahaha
after moab, if your hangin around me that will change imensly.
damn i suck at spelling
dude your number is on your website. thats practically an invitation.
Yeah if the Redrim Inn is full up, I'm just going to camp out. I know a good place.
Nate, where are you looking at camping? I'm considering going straight for the campout to save $$ and because I love camping.
There's a KOA campground around Moab somewhere. I'm staying there for EJS. It's ~$22 a night for a tent site. A bit on the spendy side IMO, but you can have more than 1 tent on 1 site, so get 2-3 guys on 1 site and it's quite cheap.
They have cabins as well, but they were all reserved when I called them. Those are ~$40 a night.
They have a big parking lot to park trucks/trailers, etc I guess too.
The hotel is nice but I'm not rich and I can save some money by camping. Afterall it's just a place to sleep.

Kris, we'll be leaving Edmonton on Monday morning. Was thinking about staying in Pincher Creek Monday night and then across the border and into Idaho on Tuesday. Maybe you and me can meet up with Nate and convoy from there.Originally Posted by Kraqa

That would work out. I'm only leaving Thursday morning though. I took Wednesday to Wednesday off from work and I will need that Wednesday to pack everything up I think. GSW only starts Fri morning right?

If anyone is going to camp out, I'm interested in possibly sharing a campsite with 2 or 3 guys. It'll be my wife and I in our tent.
ya i'm goign to be leaving tuesday night after work. drive for 6 hours. then drive for another 12-14 the next day and if i'm not in moab by then then i'l sleep and arive thursday morning. i'm gonn amap this shit out. i think this plan is doable.
If I have time to pack up before my leave starts I could probably leave Wednesday morning. I work 3PM-12AM though, so I wouldn't want to leave before 7-8AM so I can get some sleep.
Though... since it's not starting until Friday, I don't see a point in leaving early.
If you guys need to stop and rest in Idaho, let me know. I have extra room in the house and there's room to park trucks, trailers, etc.

I was thinking if we stayed in Idaho Wed. Might have to drive a little bit Wednesday and stop somewhere in between. I'd like to get to Moab say maybe noonish on Thursday. I still have to map it all out, Moab might be alot further than I think. I really don't feel like driving longer than 10 hrs at a time. Nate, we may just take you up on your offer.
Brett
My plan if I don't run with Sandy and the So. Cal. guys is to be in Moab no later than noon Thurs. as well.
I still need to decide exactly what I am doing. All depends on if my Jeep is ready or not.
From Mountain Home, ID to Moab, UT it's 540 miles, about a 9hr drive I would say.
I have room here at the house for people to sleep, just let me know beforehand. It's not a huge house or very fancy but it's a place to sleep and it's free!
I have some room to park, though space is a bit limited.
More time on your back in the driveway and less time on the Forums will improve your chances to get your rig to Moab.Originally Posted by Cue-Ball
Remember, you don't need a bullet-proof tank to run GSW as long as you let traction and momentum crawl the rocks rather than power and speed.
I don't think very many Grands had after-market axles or tires larger than 31" until the 3rd GSW -- and even then it was only one or two ZJs that had after-market axles and 33"s. As I think about it, almost all of the stock setups did just fine. EDIT: CLEARANCE IS IMPORTANT.
Stop thinking "if" you get your Jeep ready and just get it as ready as you can with what you have and drive the trails that match up with your vehicle capabilities and experience level. You will have a much better time being the pilot in the cokpit rather than being the navigator. At the end of the day many people get together for food, spirits and a lot of bullshitting. It really doesn't matter what level trails you do during the day to have fun.

I should be sharing a room with Kris, Red Stone Inn has about the best rates around for the quality of the room. I'm just excited by the time GSW rolls around I'll be LEGAL to go to the Moab Brewery!
