Yeah I remember there were quite a few ways to tell big from small. I dont remember if it was in that link or another but you could also tell by the size of the drums.
But glad I could help, BTW whats the plans for the 44/9"? Going under the Grand?

On with the hubs,
Used a puller, a torch and sacrificed a chisel.
bit by bit
finally, complete with brake anker plate
Time to take the axle shafts out.
On to the outers,
Steelbrush, wd40 and air impact gun.
Came loose pretty easy
Can't reach the lower one with the impact.
So I nice tap from the sledge on a wrench did it.
3 firm blows on the top castle nut were enough.
One off the big differences with the D30 outer knuckle,
On the D44 the balljoints are pressed in the outers, while
on the D30 they are pressed in the inner C's.
I like the D44 solution better cause when replacing those joints
it's easier to put a knuckle under the press then an axle.
A ½ ton flat top knuckle, not the best option for hi-steer arms.
Tappered adjuster on the inner C, time to make another tool.
Axletube, dia 7.5cm wall 1.5cm
Taken apart, the diff is still in, not in my way for now.
All for now on the High Pinion D44.

Damage report from our trip to Geilenkirchen(Germany)
Stuck in a mudpit, thnx Dez. for warning me.
Rescued bij Dez.
Out of it, somebody told me I had a flat
Jacked it up and hooked to Dez's compressor.
Didn't help anything so got to change and inspect it.
Her's the leak, the rim has a crack in it.
Most likely a stone got caught in between the caliper and the rim.
A little cleaning up
Kids didn't mind the delay, they where "claying on the Jeep".
On sunday we had a Hill-climb. And since I never did that before I tried it.
Didn't do to bad for a 5300 lbs rig.
On the 3 and last attempt the front came loose bumping in the wholes from my previous run,
hitting the ground again it just "cracked". Did sound kind a familar
After drivin in Hi and Lo a bit, the sounds didn't return.
So went to do something else.
A first attempt with some stress on the front it "cracked" again.
So took out the front DS, watched by the girls.
So we drove home on the street tires without any hassle at all,
did keep the steering wheel a litlle tighter than normal.
So last night started to take things apart,
starting to get used to metalic diff. oil
small pieces
That lower sat. is almost half gone.
So 3 out of 4 sat's are damaged, R&P looks to be fine.
Pff,
Had a fun weekend though, time to get things fixed.
3 more weekend trips in the next 3 weeks.

So we made a trip to belgium the last weekend off september,
This was the 12th annual in a row it's like a fundraiser.

They collected close to half a million euro's over the previous editon's.
Last year over the 2 weekend days over 1700 off-road vehicles attended.
Swapping wheels in the rain sucks.
it kept raining.
pulled out off a mudpit by a tractor
Sunday the weather was nice, trying to cross something wet and muddy.
Saved by Edwin en Willem, thnx.
Then sunday eve on the way back, doing approx 45mph I lost my left front wheel.
This damaged my wheelstuds and the rotor.
Long story short, friends of us who we where with, drove on home.
When they got home the removed a wheel hub from Kameel's Tj and headed back to belgium.
So swapped the parts and we could continue our way home where we finally arrived in the middle off the night.
Then this past weekend we had our annual Dutch Jeepcamp in Erm
over 150 jeeps attended was a fun weekend.
On the way back again some issue's with my left front wheel which came loose, luckily didn't come off.
So pic's from the day after.
So this past year we went on 8 weekend trips to Germany, France, Belgium and in The Netherlands.
Had an great time with it, and broke plenty off front axle stuff.
So this week I'll be taking it off the road by suspending road tax and insurrance.
Then a new phase will start, cleaning, building, wheight reduction and so on.
I'll keep you posted.

Cleaned it up,
not to bad from a distance.
but here and there missed some spots's
Made a start with removing things,
also the rear carrier got to go.
took on a lot off dirt in it.
Continued on the interieur and wet carpet.
Wow, some space in there.
Got it suspended for road tax yesterday, that means from now on need to keep it on my own property.
Normally it costs €68.00 to suspend it, but because it was less then 1 year from the last
time that I suspended it, it cost me €113,50. On the other hand I save €78.00
for not having to pay roadtax now. Time to start saving for goodies.

I am getting older (wiser) & stay away from the mud Not worth the hours cleaning mud off my Heep ---10 min of fun in the mud equals 1 hour of cleaning cutting into my Beer time

Awesome rig! Ditch the dana 30 though... Seems to be kind of a weak point.
Also:
Mud R Fun. I can't keep myself out of it despit the fact that I seem to fuck something up EVERY SINGLE TIME I go in there. Of course I fuck stuff up on rocks also. And in dirt. And sand. and on road.
Maybe I need a little thing that gives me a strong electrical shock every time I do something stupid. Like get in the drivers seat.

On with taking things apart.
Took the doors out for easy access
Before you know stuff stats to pile up again.
Carpet is out, the foam undernaeth it already started to smell bad
Not very clear, but it is wet.
Dash is out
Found some ripped seams between diffrent body parts.
Caused by flexin it in terrain I think.
Also started on modifying my donor doors.
Don't realy have a tight plan yet, for sure though the 44/9 combi
and reducing weight.

Started to take apart de 9" a while ago.
Taking the old rtf off, noticed a fine crack
After pulling the 3 member.
So recently decide to take a shot at it
Cut the damaged part out and did some grinding on the edge.
Put it back togeteher and lined it out.
Welded
Curious if and how long it will stick together.
Took the stock bracket's off.
Mheanwhile on the look-out for a spare 9" housing.
