How are you gonna center the hoops up before you weld the wheels together?

Well it has been a while, but not forgotten.
    Recently started at it again.

Couple of useless spring perches on the 10.25 need to go.

While at it, some axletube cleanup.

I already build a truss for it but didn't realy like it how it came out.
To small and to high, so back to drawing.

    measure,

    Piece off square tube 60*120*6.

    Bend and tacked.

proto 1 vs proto 1 improved.

    Testfitting,

    Finishing and some reinforcements.

Finally after a lot off patience found a set off used Super Swampers, 42*15-16.5

    Obvious, they don't fit.

About time to make 'm fit.

Tonight's garbage, there was also about 10 pound off dirt coming down.

Also started on the right rear, to get rid off some sheet metal.

Control arm in place with new bracket's with multipal mounting points.

The axle need to be pushed back a little more.

    Time to lengthen the arms's

Piece off tube around it, will hold up for build and test.

    Modified the bracket's.

    In place.

Done some more grinding on the truss, to get it as low as possible.

what thickness tube are you using on those sleeves? I personally would have used a slightly longer piece and maybe some .250 wall especially with 42's and the gap between the original arm..
4.7 wj 4" front long arm soft 8's destination mt's

    Thanks,

Preparations to tie the rear truss into the diff housing.

    On with the wholesaw.

    Last bit with the plasma.

    Some pieces off bar.
Don't have the right drill to tap M12 yet.

On with the rear upper bracket.

For now with a bushing, eventally there will be a heim.

Axle in the highest position with my previous rear upper LA's.
    However not enough room.

Going to rebuild the rear upper LA's to an A-frame.
In the old situation I had the bushings on the frame and JJ's on the upper truss on the 8.8.
Now the JJ's will be on the frame and a single heim on the truss on the 10.25
So bushings have to come off.

Also some bending to clear the floor.

    Everything in place.

    Got some grinding to do.

    Again everything in place.

Great thread, good looks at it, and it's worth it. I was already 3 years after renovating my ZJ. There are morsels of inspiration.

    Really good work, thanks!

Made some Insert's out off solid bar 27mm. Drilled with 9.6mm finally threaded with M12.

    Countersink.

Everything in place on the axle and clamped together.

    Welded the bottom.

    Welded the rear.

    Grinded the surface flat.

    "Vulplaat" for the upper bracket.

Upper and lower plate for the upper bracket.

Everything in place on the axle.

Positioned it under the zj, the uppers tacked.

    Removing more sheetmetal.

This is the planned ride hight for now, 6" lift.

Got the hoist in place, works faster then the jack.

Have got to remove some more, both inside and outside.

This is 3" up and 8" down travel.

I think I will move the axle 1" further to the rear.

    Hi OrangePower,

    Thanks for your nice comment.
    As for your question.
You have to have a lot off patience.
I watch several advertisement sights at a regular base. The German ebay is also a very good source.
If you want to keep your front pinion on the driver side, you have to look for the fod pickup trucks.
My set came from a F350 '85 Dana60rc Sterling10.25, paid 600 euro including tires(35") and wheels. Smoking deal so to say.
This site in germany has a lot off nice stuff, made an inquiry once, but wanted 1000euro for a driverside D60 http://www.morlock-motors.de/
As for tires, those are even harder to come buy since the are not being allowed to be inported into the EU anymore.
    Hope this will help.

You think about running wheel spacers your wheels or just fab it all to run w/o spacers
