Maybe in 2008 we will be ready for a big vacation, she has always wanted to go to Australia though, I just don't want to take a 3 week trip so I have been reluctant to go there.

In 3 weeks you can cover the whole off Europe.
That is like 20 to 1 countries to visit.
I would know what to do.

    Continuation
    Finally got the airintake done
Cause the lack off space in the engine bay, the stock airbox and intake had to go.
So I put a "Dual air tube intake" in.

    With filter,

    and pre-filter.

    Looks like this.

Made some progress on the steering with some 90 degree connector's.

    tubing.

An used trannycooler which from now on will be a steeringoilcooler

Next to the stock tranny cooler

Trying to fit everything together in a limited space.

Well it doesn't fit. Not enough "height" between steering gear and powersteerpump.
So had to cut that nice and shinny do.ge du.angry bracket from the bottom, but still not enough.
Thankfully over a year ago I made an adjustable tranny traverse.
So mounted the tranny traverse in the "low" position.
This gave me like little less off an ¼" between the multibelt and steering gear.

Tubing cut to the right lenght, only need to press the connector's on.

    Cooler mounted and hooked on

    Tubing pressed and mounted

    Some regular maintenance stuff

    the old,

    the new one.

    Need to replace this seal.

Also adjusted the tranny bracket for the t-case lever's

Poored the first fresh oil(powersteer) tonight. This thing is starting to get in it's final stage.
Only ?? nights off sweet dreams

    Engine upgrade.
Changing the stock thermos for an 160 unit.
What a (^&(^)(* job to do, eventually took the whole top mounting bracket(generator A/C pump) off to get some clearence.

    Here the 160.

    With a fresh gasket.

Pipe on and installed the rest of the parts involved.

Some electric parts, new distributor cap with rotor.
    Doesn't lool like a waste

Time consuming job, wrenching in a very small area.
Got it done thanks to a "Wrenching Platform"

Also new plugs, ignition wires and a HO coil.

Started on installing some small parts to be able to crank it again.
New rear tranny seal and trannyoil pan with new gasket

Unfortunatly a damaged thread in the tranny, damn
Tried to get a heli-coil, but no luck. So tappped it with M8 thread

Very carefully an allenbolt M8 in, not to tight only 17Nm required.

Filling up several fluid level's, checking, double check and re-check.
Started to be in doubt after all.
Left the engine oil and filter because I added a portion off Forte Motor Flush.
To get this chemical to do its job, the engine needs to be running for 20 to 25 minutes, then do the oil change.
Also a good test for the modified cooling system.
Fabbed up some sort of waste duct.

Result, Big smile (let me translate this for you "It runs again") doesn't need more explaining I guess

The girls are ready to roll.

E-fan and steering working perfect, cooling temp just stayed below 176
    Oil pressure just below 3

Earlier this year when testing the custom muffler I heard thicking from the engine, probably a valve rod or something.
    Have not heard it anymore.

Finaly changed the engine oil and filter.

    An final(for now) underhood view

Saturday with new engine oil had it running again and shot a video
    TESTRUN 1.1Mb

    Updated my checklist

Got to say this last weekend definatly was a mile stone................

did you fabricate the duel intake setup, or buy it somewhere. I was thinking of running a second battery setup, but I would have to ditch the K&N I have now.

    Thanks,

What a fabulous thread. I set here most of the evening looking through all the pictures and comments.

I don't know how you take all the pictures. At the end of a long day in the garage the last thing I'm looking to do is a photo documentary of all the work.

    Great job!

But that wasn't because off the worldcup football.
It was because off the 4th and last night off the evening marches which my oldest 2 attended this year.

great build mate. looks like it's all coming together.

whats your exhaust setup like? i saw that you used a random tech cat and stock manifolds (i think), but didn't see the muffler. sounds like either a small magnaflow, a bullet muffler, or maybe a glasspack. regardless, sounds great.
