Ok, here it goes... a little history about my ZJ, and the ongoing buildup.

This is how I got it:

It already had 31 ATs at stock height.

About two months later I added a BB and uber cool Steel Horse steps.

Then a frickin semi truck hit me in the back:

After that was fixed, I got full skids, and a pair of rocksliders. I had a shop make me a exact copy of Kevin's LP-1 Sliders.

After I got the body protection, I needed tow points. I got Kevin's Radiator Support

Before I went on my first offroad trip, I cut the fenders... look at the extreme BB flex.

On my second trip, I got the first time stuck. Going thru this way was no problem...

...but going back, I stuck. I got some mud/water inside, had about 6 pounds of sand in each door, and the speakers were gone. Oh yeah, and my front R&P broke. D30 sucks!

Then I added 33x12.5 BFG ATs tires. Still being on a BB, didn't give me much flex... but with 31s it wasn't much more.

Then I trimmed my bumper a little.

    ´

...after that, I put in 3" springs with the spacers on top.

Then I bought a T-Max winch and needed a place to put. This is a little over one year after the sliders. At this time I got some tools, and didn't need to pay people anymore to do this stuff.

Thats it for the past! Now the buildup starts.

No more plans I am already doing it... I just haven't had a job for a while so the buildup goes very slowly. Its pretty much cut it in half, tube it, and put portals under it. I'll see if I can put up some pics tomorrow of its current state.

No... I had 31s even without a BB. I've cut my fenders just for the fun of it. You know... Its the same with cutting the rear roof off. You look at pics again, and again, and then you just want to do it.

None really... I've just kept that nick from a long time ago. You know WWF now called WWE. I used to watch that all the time, and was on a wrestling-bb.

    stop laughing...
Then I was thinking about a name for the ZJ... for the buildup. I just thought tombstone fits. Its kinda ironic if I die in that fawkin Jeep, but I couldn't come up with a better idea.

So... No! I don't powder my skin white and walk around in black clothes. I just suck with coming up for names. You got a better one? Entertain me.

Sweet, I was needing some pics like that.. i'm gonna cut mine off similar and make my bumper soon. What did you do with the airbag sensor? Does it have to be kept in one position?

    I threw em out.

But as far as I know they sense hard deceleration... and I don't think they would need to be in the same location for that. You could mount them somewhere inside the bumper or engine compartment.

I just wasn't sure if they had some kind of switch that would set off if I tilted it up or something, some cars are like that. I do want to keep the sensors, because it will still be a DD, but we'll see what happens when it comes to cutting time.

So... while the bumper was getting painted, I took out the D30.

    Here the obligatory D30 salute:

Then I test fitted my new used tires. Thy are 14.5/20 Michelin XLs. They will have to do, untill there is a 44" TSL SX, in size 20. I don't feel ready for 49 Iroks!

Then I wanted to see how wide it will be with the new axles.

I don't think it is wide enough for the lift I will need. So either I will get some wheelspacers, or I will flip the wheels, or both. Dunno yet.

    Something around 90" I guess.
Like in the pic before the last one... with just the tires left and right without the axle.

Yeah me too! It is taking forever! I lost my job shortly after I started the project, and I haven't found a new one yet. Sucks... I got all the time I need, but no money.

But... you do know it is your fault, that I am doing this, right?

Remember back in your buildup thread:

Suspension: double triangulated longarms in the rear, front maybe too. I'll have to see if I get clearance issues. Maybe I run only one upper in the front. Shocks and springs will be replaced by coilovers.

Rear axle is the same one as the front.
