4.56s, 4.0 I6, and 35s arent bad around here or in the hills. Its in the high elevation mountains that it really really suffers and keep overdrive on on some highway climbs.
But I expect it would be significently more powerful with 33s. Can always get bigger tires later =) But why would tire wear be an issue? Why would 33s wear more then 35s? Ive seen MT/Rs last 40,000 miles
I am just going by Norcaljr, and goingofforadings experience with 35's and 4.56 gears.
As for tire wear, I am really not sure if the 35's will really hold up to all the mountina driving I do every day is all.
4.56s will work FINE with 35s.
A tire of a larger diameter will complete fewer revolutions per mile, thereby giving you more mileage out of them.
I'm running 35s on my DD and have had no problems. I am running 4.88s, but 4.56s aren't that much higher.
I know the 35's WILL look much better also.
Just wanted to let you all know I have found a place that makes aftermarket motor mounts for the ZJ's.
The place is down in So. Cal. called Autofab. You can check out their webiste here http://www.autofab.com/ John really hooked me up with a sweet deal on them.
Here are a few pix, SJGrand has them right now for powder coating I should be getting them back this weekend and installed the following weekend.
They use a poly bushing that is replaceable so these are a GREAT upgrade and to tell you the truth the price was just about the same as what I could get from my friend at the dealership (and I get a deal on the stuff from there).

Okay they are BFG AT's 32x11.5x15. And are WAY WAY better than the tires I used to have on it.
My next set will be GoodYear MT/R's when I do my axle swaps.

Yea one of the first things I did was shave off all the emblems.
I do have sliders planned infact I picked them up when I was in LA last month.
I think it is more like a year build up. I think I bought my 8.8 back in May of last year. Things are moving ahead though but trust me way to damn slow, but what can you do. Tough when I have a family to feed and all that, sometimes house stuff has to come before Jeep stuff.

I need to figure out how to set up a side business where I can write off all of the tools I've bought. The shitty thing is you have to reflect a profit within three years (five if you're a farmer) to keep it from being classified as a hobby. Hobby losses = nondeductible for income tax purposes.

If you want your tires to last more than 12,000 miles and not rip sidewalls, I'll take the MTR. I've had both, and even with how much I don't like the MTR in mud, it does amazing on rocks, not bad in the sand, and it gets the job done in the mud. Who likes mud anyway?
