Tommy, can't wait to see that thing on the trail (or desert as the case may be here)

Yeah, it is at my Dad's shop in Miramar, Lee Rollins Firestone. It is dusty, i haven't washed it in almost 10 months. It still has half of Ocitillo in it from my last trip. I have been waiting on parts for some time, and have everything I need now. i am lazy and the lifts + tools at the shop make my life a ton easier. It has been it's home for about 7 weeks now.
Your dad runs a Firestone? Thanks for the heads up, now I know where to take my Heep. What are you waiting on?
i was waiting on my ARB's front and rear. PEAKZJ got them out to me a couple weeks ago. But with 4th of July and work i haven't had the time to get it done.
If you take your Jeep there ask for Mark and let him know your a friend of mine. he'll do his best to give you a good deal on whatever you need. Plus it is an honest shop..
Kevin
It should be done soon. So, if you are intrested in on taking some runs to Ocitillo and Truckhaven this season, let me know. I will give you a heads up when we are going to go.
Finally got them POS moving again after 2 months. One little snag in the rear. Did anyone know that the rear d70 out of a dodge has a smaller inner pinion bearing. I had to reuse my old one becuase the fucking bearing install kit that was sent to me from PeakZJ had the wrong bearing. The kit was for a D70, and all of the rest of the parts were correct except for this bearing. I guess, just one more funky thing about this D70. It is amazing how smooth an install can be with the right parts. On to the front when I get back from New Orleans.
that's not the d70u is it?Originally Posted by Tommy
Pulled the axle tag id and it didn't specify. The dodge D70 has 32 spline axle shafts, which inturn means limited locker selection. Nobody makes a 32 spline spool for this axle. One of the reasons why I am running ARB's front and rear.
Don't drink the water....what you doin there?

The front ARB's just about done. The bone heads from ARB didn't send me everything for connecting the air lines. The package was missing and inner compression nut and an additional ferule. I am getting fucking frustrated. I can't wait for the rig to be done. Upon taking apart the front found a smoked drivers side hub and replaced both ujoints. The nut holding the rotor and hub to the outer stub shaft was so damn rusted, I just about smoked the outer shaft. Dealer wanted like $300 bucks for the outer stub shaft. $156 bucks each for this front axle.
Still to go:
Drive Shafts
Belly skid
hydro steering
Hook up the POSI-LOK.
And paint all the crap to make it look petty.
So, are you going full hydro or hydro-assist? Your post just says hydro. I would stay away from full hydro if you plan on street driving or any high speed driving. I've got full hydro on my TJ and it'll be coming off during my rebuild. Very spooky trying to keep it on the highway, especially on CO's passes.
Glad to hear it's finally coming along. We just got Cristi's rig back on the road this past Saturday. It's the one that was apart in my backyard way back when! Good luck with the rest!
Corey
Yeah Corey I am going full hydro, got all PSC stuff. Just finished up the front totally today. I am a fucking bone head and had forgot to put the rubber o rings on the ARB. So I ahd to take apart the whole front again. I don't expect to driving it to much on the street. Probably just to go get some milk or something , or cruise through the mall on friday nights j/k.
Glad to Cristi's rig is done. Hope the baby is doing well? I am almost there. Should have my rig back up from my Dads shop this friday and have it back to Ryans shop next weekend to start the full hydro, belly skid, and cage. I am trying to workout a deal with him for the cage. I want to help and get some welding experience at the same time. I have some more pics of how I ran my lines, mounted the compressor, and mounted my switches but I haven't had time to upload them. Hopefully in the next couple of days. Had to also mount the POSI-LOK under the hood becuase the cable was so short. I plan to leave it engaged all the time anyways.
Fucked up the ferule so I haven't connected the front line yet.
I still have a shit load of cleanup work to do. Paint, etc.
lookin good. I'm wondering if i shoudl move this to members rigs. The topic has gotten far from just stearing.
Kraqa,
Go for it. Probably a better place for it now.
The only thing is that there is great tech in here. If i choose to move it we will be putting all this stuff into a forum that will rarely get searched. I want to keep this search-able.
i know that. Maybe later. right now i dont' have time.
