The 242 is out of a 89 XJ. The SYE that I bought from Tom Woods has a flange, which then connects to the DS. This is the kit, for the most part...

I think you have two issues with the SYE, not particulary the SYE's fault. But your tire size warrents the use of a bigger cardian joint like a 1410 and the output shaft is not big enough for your tire size. Which is a fin size for like a 35 to maybe a 37.

Exactly what Jess said. I think he is going to go ahaed and build the shafts for me with the understanding that the cardian will be a major weak point. He suggested I carry like 4 DS's. LOL. I plan on sending the two I have now to him and the getting two other made. We'll see, i might just buy me an ATLAS, but the wife will be pissed.

ATLAS is like 2G's, ouch! If I bought this thing I don't think I would get any for a period of time.

Looks good. Are you going to make it so the cross member bolts in? Doesn't look like it does right now, but I could be wrong.

Corey as it stands right now the crossmember uses the stock bolts, but there is a tube which extends from the crossmember to the rear uca mounts. There will be a flanged weled to it and then it will also be bolted to the rear uca mounts. The belly skid will be built from that, so it seems as though the belly skid and x-member will be one.

You can't see the bolts in any of my pics.

Have you considered building an NP 205 or something along those lines?

You could probably build it with 4:1 for under 2Gs, and it would be just as strong as (if not stronger than) an Atlas.
    I break stuff.

Cool. Are you going to be adding additional bracing to your CA mounts on the frame rails? The front uppers look like they wouldn't hold up to much right now.

Good lookin out... We plan on doing plenty more gusseting and bracing. This is not complete yet. Anything in particular you would suggest for the front?

Steering is a toss up right now between full hydro and hydro-assist. It will see some freeway time and I am feeling a bit safer and leaning toward the hydro-assist. Plus I don't have a tow rig at this time, so it will have to get to and from the trail. Steering and sway bars still need to be tackled.

By any chance does anybody know what u-joint is on the dodge D60's, (out of a 96) a 1350 I think? Ordering the drive shafts has been a little PITA. I just don't know enough, but I am learning. My rear shaft is fine, it is a Woods shaft with gold joints that came with my SYE, all I need for the rear is a conversion U-Joint to mate that shaft with the 60, right? The front I need a completely new shaft. High Angle wants like $850.00 for the front shaft and rear u-joint. Sorry for the newbie tech stuff..

Are these the measurments I should take?

I just drove a nice Yota on the street with full hydro. I wont be doing that again unless Im going next door or possibly down the block to the store. Scary stuff, especially with no swaybars and a welded rear.

Here are some pics of the front and rear hoops. There will be tubes that will extend between the hoops front and rear. We were able to keep all AC components and crusise control. Some of the bolts are long, they are just holding the CO's in.

Slammed for all of the ricers. All I need are some chrome curb feelers now.

Here are some pics of the rear hoops done, with spare tire carrier, and the front hoops tied together. We have a month to get the brakes working, get ATLAS and drive shafts, install gears/ spools, rework exhaust, and finish the belly skid. There are also some pics of the steering.
