oooohhh!!! a rubicon!!! actually this guy was from TX and he happened to be in the same club as the previous owner of the xj (ya know cause i bought my stuff built already cause im lame )

my friend with the xj on 33" TSL's should have some action shots, althought it was nothing really hardcore, just some little hills and stuff, ya know TJ terrain

2 back to back weeks of wheelin. finally got the axles setup right. it was nothing too difficult, but navigation trails designed for SWB TJ's in a suv results in dented sheetmetal. hit the rear quarters and rear doors alot, almost took out the rear glass a few times

    week2

    week 2

1st trip out i noticed i was making contact with the axle yoke ears. ended up adding 3 washers per steering stop. i think that fixed the binding of the axles

    wheelin it

might get the trans skid sometime like i said, also mabey alloy usa rear shafts as well if i can figure out if the TJ D44 set will work (the seals and such)

one small problem with the new rebuilt front end oun the last trip out. the yoke was all loose and shit when i got back. took it back to the gear guy and he fixed it.

changed the diff fluid on the new gearset after 700 miles and some 4x4 action.
It came out BLACK with alot of crap in it. normal i know, but is is amazing how much junk gets in there in break in.
75w-140 royal purple full syntetic was used for the change. for break in i was running 80w-90 RP

    (normal?)

also ran the rear breather all the way up to the firewall with a ricer vent on there. took 11' of rubber fuel line 1/4" ID

umm, i also sort of grinded down the housings on both axles so the covers lined up smooth with no lip or edge to hang up on. removed the holochrome bling bling bolts off the crane cover (except for the bottom 3) kinda a PITA and pointless up top and looks like i might strip the hex key out eventually. back to 12 point bolts
    front ground down:

    d44

oh and the gear shop cranked down my caliper bolts to like 30 ftlbs+ so a couple stripped and fell out, so i got to fix those
im gonna upload the pics in alittle bit

I don't know why shops crank those bolts down so much, they call for 12 ft pounds. Anyway, I put hellicoils in all four of mine, seem to be working very well!

    not really my thing

there usually are one or two LWB jeeps that go, there was a WJ on like 31's and a ZJ i think. but yeah mainly retards SWB who floor it up obstables to make it up

i point and laugh then turn up the AC

i have not updated this in a long time.

anyway Things currently fawked up on the XJ, mostly just a list to get me to fix some junk on this thing for the next ride in Feb.

    1) tranny cooler line leaking
2)mystery leak on drivers side inner fender (possibly PS box, dont really know....)
    3) rear brake shoes are shot i think, maybe cylinders going bad
    4) i think the cv joint in the rear Ds is bad
    5) 2 out of 3 (2 lca + t-bar) front RE superflex joints shot or something is loose up there
