It was a pretty good weekend!

There was some kind of nissan fest going on, so we spent a lot of time waiting on the rock stackers in front of us, but it was still a blast. Good wheelin, good weather, and good friends. Everyone except Ben (White XJ) had some kind of mechanical failure, but we got it all fixed, and everyone made it home safe and sound. Just enough rain to make things interesting.

Haven't uploaded my pics yet, but here are a few that Greg (from a group of TJs that we ran with) shot:

    More pics to come!

Everyone in our group broke or had problems with something. I gues that mean we were trying hard enough... lol

    Here's the damage report:

Me: Blown rear drive shaft - Spit a U-joint on the trail at around midnight Saturday. Repaired, and spit another from the same spot within 5 minutes. The pinion yoke was damaged and I didn't notice it (seeing how it was dark, muddy, and I was slightly inebriated). Anyway pulled the shaft and limped back to camp. Next morning, found some welding rods, hooked up a couple of batteries, and boogered the caps in place on a new joint. Got me home.

Zack (Purple ZJ - grown up a bit since I last saw it BTW): Had a caliper go bad on him. Replaced back at camp with a re-man, bled brakes, good to go. On Sunday he noticed his drag link was slightly bent - still waiting on the final report for that.

Ross (Green YJ): Flooded the distributor playing in the mud, pulled it, dried it, and sprayed it down with WD 40 - Moving again. Later found out that he killed his alternator at the same time. Installed a new one Sunday. (ouch)

Mark (Red XJ): Had a shoe on his right rear drum seize up, couldn't turn out the adjuster, and couldn't justify putting more money into a D 35 when he has a 9 inch sitting at home. It was so bad that even the slightest touch of the brake pedal would cause the tire to lock up - Vise Grips on the brake line and zip tied to the axle tube got him home with no un-necessary skids.

Greg (Yellow Zuk): Not watching where he was going - ran into a fence/tree/something and ripped off his snorkel.

I also have another noise that I have yet to figure out. At first I thought it was my "friends" f'in with me by putting some zip ties on my driveshaft, (they owe me one  ) but that's not it. May have gotten some needle bearings a little too hot when I tacked that u-joint.
