And I got rid of a bunch of weight. This bumper in the area I removed was a bunch of pieces laminated together. I checked and it was about 35 pounds weight loss.

My big POS RCI fuel tank cracked. Never again. One of the things I wish I would have done differently.

I had Paul at Bent Fab (www.bentfabaz.com) make me a tank to fit the hole the RCI tank was in. A very nice piece. Going to plumb it in with a E2000 van pump.

Just out of curiosity how much fuel do you burn in a day? I know i burn around 10 gallons a day if not a little more. So im guessing your coming in on fumes or dumping more gas in along the way.

I get about 12-14 MPG. 120-140 mile range. In Arizona our trails are near the campsites.

you get 12-14mpg wheelin? shizzle. I have burned an entire 20 gallon tank runnin the rubicon. Granted the nearest gas station is 30 miles out from the trail head, but the trail is 22 miles long and I've been at less than 1/8th leaving before.

That puts me at about...4 miles a gallon lmao.

Trailering would definately help, but I don't think I could pull more than 5-6mpg wheelin

Yeah 12-14MPG wheelin is ridiculous!!! I know in Moab I average about 5MPG.

i guess it must be that west coast creeping compared to the east coast rev limiter. i average around 15 miles on a good day which means i get about 2mpg.

I say 12-14 because that was what I was getting before the spedo stopped working and before I lost the fuel guage. I carry a spare 11 gallons in the tow rig anyways.

This tank I can pull all 10 gallons fromt he tank because the stock pump didn't hit the bottom of the last tank. This setup will draw from the bottom of the tank.

Chad! I was pondering today about this thread and I had no idea it was a page down! Please give us an update about what new things you have done because I have noticed you have not posted in quite a long time period and I am pretty curious like a cat with what you could have done over this time. I am waiting with bated breath.

Idea came from Pirate. I need to rework this a little though. Need to seperate the sight tube and the return. Return fuel is getting sent down the sight tube while the engine is running.

Chad, how loud is that pump?

I am running an Earl's pre fillter and a Russel post filter. The Earl's is less than desireable, both end of it unscrew and there is not a wrench flat to hold it while unscrewing the ends. Hence the scratched up body. I will be tig welding a piece of square aluminum to it to give me a wrench flat.

Both filters are serviceable, which is the only thing that save my ass last run. Note to self clean lines and new tank before putting into service.

Didn't do a long ass vent with three sides because, well I am getting lazy. The old tank was setup with the same routing and it didn't leak. This one does so I need to redo it. Just don't have much time.

The pump is loud. As are ALL remote pumps though. Gets annoying but I am used to it because most rigs in these parts run them. Although it barely puts out enough PSI to the 4.0. May have to switch to bling pump someday (which will be a long time from now, no cash, welcome to the underemployeed).

Moved the 10 pound CO2 tank mount to the storage basket and ditched the roll cage mount in the process. Ditching more useless weight.


Added a brace to the ram mount.
