I found this and I think it is pretty cool. Really helps you to determine how you want to set your links up for your suspension.

Helps to ask all those little questions that we often overlook while thinking about our suspension.

    Yours is too high!!

Somehow or another you have to figure out the dispursion, if thats even a fawking word, lol, of the weight. I would say on most lifted ZJ's it's probably right around the firewall, at about the top of the tranny hump maybe, that's just a TOTAL guess though.

Alot of people use the top bolt on the bellhousing as thier COG. It's a pretty good estimate from what i've gathered.

without taking the time to balance it in all three planes....you need to guestimate.

I too use my top bellhousing bolt. IMO it is a better to estimate it a little high and plan for that then estimate it low and find out on the trail.....the hard way.

I would think on a rig like Cody's, the COG would be a little lower and further forward, hence the endo last year. On the Chalupa it's probably a lot closer to a full bodied because there's more sheet metal and the cage structure more closely resembles the stock lines. Like if you take weight off the northwest corner of a compass, the COG is gonna move SE proportionate to the weight removed and the weight remaining.

Big Dave says: Probably wouldn't be a bad idea to keep this as a sticky!
I think the site is down. I've tried to use it a few times but it failed to load. I DID save the Excel formulas format and stuff and used it to build my suspension (and fine tune). It came out working very well.

Now... Someone want to take the time to help define some of these returned values and what they mean?

Some of my numbers are looking really weird, and I don't know if they're good or my guestimates were really that bad.... :?

gearhead, you need to have a 4 link rear for that to do anything for you. If i recall you have a 5 link (you still use the track bar) this will not work for you.

The dude that makes the 4 link calc is putting out a new version. Aparently this new version can calculate the math on your full suspension cycle and tell you the antisquat/dive through the cycle (changes durring movement) as well as some other pretty trick things.
