Hi guys! I am currently online window shopping for a set of off-roading tires for my 2001 Jeep Cherokee Sport. I am currently looking at Toyo Tires' Open Country R/T. Any other recommendations?
Toyo are average tyres. Don't expect them to have performance of Michelline or Bridgestone.
How serious of an off-road tire?
The best all around tires I've had were a set of Pro Comp A/Ts. Great on road manners, did well in the snow, (M/Ts don't do as well in light snow,) and wore well (50k mi treadwear warranty.) They also performed well off-road, as they had pretty large voids between the tread blocks.
The best off-road tires I've had were Super Swamper TSLs. Skinny, little ones @ 29x8.50r15s, but they took my mostly stock YJ (pulled the trackbars and the swaybar) places it had no business being.
