Well it seems that our vacation to Hawaii is going to be non-existent again this year.

I know it is a little early but is anyone interested in a weekend trip to Moab in October?

We'd love to go, but we want 35's on the JK before we take it back out there and that won't happen until next year.

For an October trip we only take the WJ so we will not be doing any extreme trails (last year the hardest we did was half of Flatiron Mesa). Would not require bigger tires on the JK for the kind of trails that we typically run

I might be up for late October, I have a vacation planned for mid-October.

That will work best for us as well. Tricia and I have a conference in California the first weekend of October and we have a retreat in Larkspur the second weekend in October so having a weekend of doing nothing would be nice.

So, October 27-29? This will be easy-moderate trails, something like Dome Plateau, Chicken Corners, Fins and Things?

I have some people at work that might want to join, but that's the level of trail they could handle for now. Maybe a tad harder, but nothing like Poison Spider or Top of the World.

    Last weekend would be best

i have no problem doing just the more moderate trails since we will not have the ZJ. Could even throw in Secret Spire. Would be a great way for me to figure out easier trails for GSW but also to see if there are some that I could combine to make a longer day since the easier trails tend to be a lot shorter

Jim just remembered that we have a big Halloween party the last weekend of October. How about the first weekend of November (3-5)?

November is fine with me, are trail guidelines fine with you?

Absolutely. We will only have the WJ again and even though I can do harder trails I have no problem doing easier trails and possibly getting a feel for some potential trails for GSW

Okay, I'm ready to pull the trigger on a hotel reservation. Best Western for $400 for 3 nights looks good. Centrally located and much cheaper than Comfort Suites.

Wouldn't you need Thursday through Saturday night (leaving Sunday)? Also, if we go the following weekend (arriving the 9th, leaving the 12th) we can save $170. Either is fine with me.

We will be coming into town Friday night and leaving Sunday. Whole reason Hawaii is off is because I technically have no time off the whole first year at my new job so I would not be able to get Friday off either

Well, that just sucks! What are your plans on Sunday, are you running a trail and then heading out? Or are you just running a trail on Saturday and then heading out Sunday morning? (Hardly seems worth it, really.)

If anyone else wants to join the party, we've decided on the second weekend in November.

Since it is getting closer now I figured I would bring this trip back to the forefront

Also I wanted to see if there is anyone else interested in joining us for this trip
