Just finished wiring up my winch and wanted to add in cab controls using the pendant switch that came with it. I figure it's safer operating the winch from the cab and wanted to make something better looking than a hand held control hanging out of my dash.

The pendant control I had was just a simple momentary 3 pole switch were the middle wire was hot and the outer two wires energized the motor one way or the other. I took that switch out of the pendant and mounted it in the panel under my gauge cluster.

On the off chance this switch ever fails closed in either direction I wanted some sort of disconnect on the hot wire. I put a guarded toggle switch in line with the hot lead and mounted that in the same panel.

This will serve as a sort of on/off switch for the control.

Here's a shot of it all installed

I used the existing hole in the firewall behind the evap box to run my cable

Looks good! Also, good idea on running that master switch in line between the battery and toggle. I doubt I would have thought of that! Excellent - good job.
