Transfer case is off, replaced tranny output seal, case input seal, front output seal. I'd like to do the rear output seal too while its out but I'm having a hard time figuring if I can without opening up the case. I did search, was very helpful on the other seals. I did find a writeup on the 242 output seal but its clearly different than the 249. I'll snap a photo when I get back home to my shop if that would help. It does appear to have a flange like the original front output seal but my buddy seems to think otherwise on how to remove it.

I'm not considering a swap btw. This case is still strong and I have another 249 already from my old zj. I like em but I realize not everyone does, cheers and thanks!

You might have to pop the tail cone off, but that's not a huge deal. Neither is cracking the case.

It's been a while, but I think I just pried it out with a screwdriver. Nothing special. Use a large socket to install the new one. Don't damage it at all or it will leak like the old one. Second install is easier though.
