I know it is a bit early; however, the way that the year is going it will be here before we know it .
We are looking to do a trip to Moab in October again and I was hoping to see if there is any one else interested. We are figuring that we will just bring the WJ so we won't be doing anything technical or hard - but hopefully moderate (and we will NOT be doing Onion Creek!! )
Any interest?
Bridget
None of this:
Or this:
Definitely none of this...
I'm noticing a trend in those pictures . . . I was directly involved in all of them. If Stan is the t-case fairy I'm the "Jim's about to fawk something up" fairy.
I might be up for it, assuming I get my vague steering diagnosed and fixed if necessary. And assuming I have any vacation to spare.
Maybe in the dub but not much time this year
Now that I have gotten some interest, I guess we need to decide when.
The weekend of October 23-25 is out - Jeep Jamboree is in Moab that weekend and, as we found out a few years ago, there is no lodging available that weekend. I have an HR Conference the week of Oct. 5th which will require me to finish payroll on Friday which might mean overtime so the weekend of the 9-11 really is not good.
That leaves us Oct. 2-4, Oct. 16-18, or Oct. 30-Nov.1 - any of them are fine with me. Any preferences from those who voiced interest?
Bridget
I'm at 33% probability of going, so take my input knowing that; I can't do Oct 30-Nov 1. The other dates are fine with no preference.
NAXJA will be there the first full week. So that's when I'll be there
if I only lived a little closer
Life seems to have put a wrench in our plans to get to Moab in October. We are now looking to go the weekend of Nov. 6-8.
Of the people that expressed interest, does that weekend work for you? Are there any others that are interested now?
Bridget
Due to some family matters, I can't commit to anything within the next 6 months. Aside from that, Nov 6-8 works for me
So....Jeep Family is part of the family matters then, right?
We're thinking Redstone for accommodations unless anybody else (Tom) have any ideas?
Coming from the family that doesn't do any work travel and don't have fancy schmancy points
Update on this, we're now targeting the weekend of Nov 14 for moderate trails. I'll probably stay at Comfort Suites which is a little nicer place to stay during the winter and has reasonable $95/night rates.
I was hoping to try and make this, but I'll be in Me-hee-ko that week. and all at once.
Bummer, Cody, would love to do a trail with you again.
By the way, I'm now at 100% certainty on this. Going to be a family affair with my dad, a nephew and probably a cousin. If all come, I'll be looking at renting some form of additional trail vehicle in Moab so no one has to ride in a back seat.
Sounds awesome Tom - the more the merrier!
Glad to hear that you are a definite. We will definitely be there also so it will be a fun weekend
By the way, we'll be arriving Thursday evening, ready for a Friday trail ride.
And, although he hasn't been on this thread, Gary will be showing up with his WKII and a friend with a JK (I think).

Great!
We will not be coming in until Friday night. Jim invited a guy we went to high school with that has a WK so hopefully we will add one more to this ever growing group
I would come but the budget is a little on the tight side!
Now that it is almost time for this trip, do we have any ideas what trails we want to do?
I guess we should figure out the capabilities of the Jeeps we will have. Tom has the biggest and I would assume it will not matter to him what we do. I have 2" of lift, am on 29" tires, have disconnects, have rear limited slip, and I have Mopar rock guards. What does Gary have on his WKII?
