looking for a new or new to me ZJ to start fresh with and build up that does not have issues and hopefully low miles.
in pretty good condition body wise anyway.
At least a 5.2 maybe a 5.9 in good mechanical and electrical condition.

Here are a few that I have found

    https://denver.craigslist.org/cto/5123994668.html

    https://denver.craigslist.org/cto/5125164537.html

    https://denver.craigslist.org/cto/5133002216.html

    https://denver.craigslist.org/cto/5109556115.html

The 5.9 and there is nice from what I can see but it's kind of pricey... at least I think!

    I like my ZJ!
I just want to get a fresh start and build it better the first round instead of a progressive build over ten years like the last one!
And that one came with issues that never went away but in the fact that I got it for free I just dealt with it!
I got the dub and couldn't be happier with how it's done the way it is as a mild rig for the family but I like my ZJ for the big stuff
I have done a LOT of learning, building, changing and adjusting with the ZJ to get it dialed in and I think I found what I want (at least for the time being!)

    Found a few more

    https://denver.craigslist.org/ctd/5148641399.html

    https://denver.craigslist.org/cto/5148605386.html
    4.0

    https://denver.craigslist.org/ctd/5127945560.html
    Again 4.0

    https://denver.craigslist.org/ctd/5154468574.html
Like this one with low miles but wow prices!

    Any 4.0 vs. 5.2-5.9 input?
My mind says go with what I know in the trusty 5.2 but what pros/cons from those that have had both?

Absolutely get a 5.2L. To me one of the greatest advantages of the ZJ platform over the XJ/YJ/TJ is the availability of a V8 from the factory.

Never in my life would I buy another Grand with a 6-cyl. Even with a rebuilt, worked-over 4.0 my ZJ was still pretty gutless

Yeah don't even think about a 6cyl, especially in CO. My dad has a 96 4.0 with 31's on it, and it is a dog. He hates driving it because it's so underpowered. For a DD for a high schooler it's perfect, but for what we do get the V8.

I don't know if Jim's mentioned it to you, but I might be willing to part with the green one I picked up for what I have into it if you're interested. I just don't see myself getting to it as soon as I planned on.

If you think about it having two different grands makes you even cooler!
So John it's time to think about your second one maybe a ZJ or a WK(as long as it's not 2wd!)

My 4.0 isn't so slow, even pulling the camp trailer.

Of course if I had to go out and purchase another I would look for a lower mileage 5.2, but still. Knowing what Jeremiah wants to put under it, definitely V8.

Jeremiah and I went and looked at a 98 yesterday that was really solid, ran great and the body was good. Trouble was it's at a dealership (not a big box, just a mom & pop, but still a dealer).

They wanted wayyyy to much out of the gate, and we couldn't get them talked down closer to what it's worth (talked them down about $1500 from what they listed it at). I think I heard Kristi's aneurysm over the phone when Jeremiah was talking to her about it

I think the Mom & Pop dealerships are less flexible on their prices since they don't move as much volume. With CarFax private sales can be a bit more reliable.

Jer, let me know if you want to look at the green 96. Pam and I decided we're going to patch up the blue ZJ to get us through another couple of years so we'll be selling the green one. If you want it I'll sell it as-is, otherwise I'll start fixing it up a bit to try to turn a bit of a profit on it.

Dave: I'd like to have a look at it maybe next time I'm in Denver so I'll see what I can do to make that happen!
