What are you guys using? I have a Craftsman that's a good 15 years old at this point, and it gets the job done but it's a bit weak. Thinking about upgrading to a new gun. Not sure why I remember this being one I wanted the last time I was looking (5+ years ago) but it looks to be rated well.

If I can get away with spending less than that, obviously that's a win.
Liking the price on this one: http://www.amazon.com/Ingersoll-Rand...ll+rand+impact
I've got Ingersoll Rand. Have never failed me. I did a ton of searching online for the best prices but that was before Amazon had pretty much everything. Also got some cool "protective tool boot" for them to protect from sliding around on the floor.
I got the Milwaukee fuel half inch drive and it kicks in the air to live everone out of the water. I now turn on my air compressor far less
I have the MAC 3/8 and 1/2 inch composite and they are the best I have ever had and half if not more the weight of the metal ones! I mostly use the 3/8 and it works 90% of time lug nuts included and the 1/2 inch will either take it out or break it off lol and there pretty quiet compared to alot of the others something your neighbors might like.
I've used that Thunder gun and it works good but is very heavy and very loud
Oh yea and yes I have dropped them both many many times on to the cement floor with no damage
I have a Husky 1/2" that I got in a kit from Home Depot probably a dozen or more years ago. Still works great. It lives in the Jeep with the Jeep tools, but it's the only thing I don't have doubles of for the garage. I've been pretty happy with it, and if I remember right the whole kit (impact, air hammer, 3/8" air ratchet and some other tools) was priced right.
I have that one, it works fine, but I don't like the power adjustment. Maybe mine is broken but it will spin more than the 5 settings it has. It shouldn't be a problem with your compressor, but I put a custom splitter on mine and it needed more air. Once I took the splitter off it ran fine. If you want to try it out I can bring it to work.
I have Snap on and Blue point 3/8 and blue point 1/2 as well as ingersol rand 1/2 & 3/4 drive.. Ingersol is hard to beat for the money.
Snap on here and I love them.
Dave, did you pull the trigger (pun intended) on a gun yet? What do you think about the new compressor?
I haven't dealt much with impact wrenches.... Is 1/2" the "go-to" size, or has anyone used a 3/8" and got the job done? Looking at this.

I'd say 1/2 as well you can always reduce to 3/8 but you get the better drive!
Get one of each. Use the 1/2 for most jobs but the 3/8 is great for a lot of jobs where the 1/2 just won't fit.
I use my 3/8 a lot more than i do my 1/2 but i also recently got a Dewalt 1/4 20 volt impact and I now use it more than anything mostly with a 3/8 bit in it and 3/8 impact sockets you would not believe the power this little sucker has!!!
I bought the IR231C last year, it is made in China . I still have not used it so no review.
