I tackled machining my flat top knuckles over the weekend. I was quite nervous going into it, but it was quite straight forward. I have a benchtop mill in the garage, so why not give it a try. I used this diagram as a guide.
Pulled all the outers and the knuckles --> Hover jeep
Fly cut the flat-tops flat.
Indicating in on the the ball joint hole.
Drilling pilot holes.
Ready to be tapped. I chose to tap to 5/8-18 (vs 9/16) for a slight upgrade on strength.
All done with studs in.
