"Snorkel" by putting filter under the window cowl?

Check this idea out. He put his air filter under the passenger side window cowl to act as a snorkel. What do you guys think, pros and cons? I think it is pretty clever, but I would worry about there being enough airflow.

Step 1, turn the air hat 180*


Step 2: drill hole in desired location in passenger side cowl, remove cowl, and run tube from air hat into newly drilled hole


Step 3: Attach filter and reassemble. Here is the filter tucked in there. Going to get a water cover for the filter:

That'd be my concern as well, especially at low speeds or when the ambient temp is high

I like it. I was thinking about using the space my CAI set up is using now for a second battery. This get's the filter out of the engine bay.

As for air flow restrictions, maybe just drill some additional holes in the cowl.

I like the idea. My only problem would be that I have sunken my jeep higher then that a few times. One of the down sides of living in NJ. Its all deep water.
