they are awesome. but i need to figure out a capacitor for the DRL work around. they flicker when the DRL are on.
Ive tried 2 different ones. a 4700u 35V and it blew up. then a 10000u 25V that does almost nothing. I've msg'd Morimoto and they haven't gotten back to me...its been 7 days now.
i got the seats in.
i will be making a trim piece to mount the power base switch and cover the tracks.
several bonuses to these seats. they are thinner in the bottom and back than the factory seats so i actually get about 1" more headroom and about 2" more legroom for the rear seats.
also the factory seats don't line up to the passenger foot-well or the driver petals. so with the new mounts i was able to center them properly and it is much more comfortable that before.
Looks good! Are you going to keep the factory belts or do a harness bar at some point?
Would you be willing to sell some of those brackets, or the design file? I've got a pair of PRP seats that have been on the garage floor for way too long.
Looks great with those seats! Good luck with your surgery!

Best wishes for a speedy recovery from your surgery.
This thread is unhealthy for me, it sincerely makes me want to build another ZJ, but very very differently than I did before. I miss the kind of wheelin' that got me into it, not the big buggy stuff I got in over my head with, this build is amazing!
ZJ's are cheep these days. if you wanted to be a real man you'd hack up a WK.
Question about the headlights, are they a bixenon with the shutter for the hi/lo function?
As always, killer work, man. You inspire us all to do better with our builds.

Thanks. This seems like a great option for quality light output without all the extra, cheesy crap you seem to get in most of the aftermarket lights. The Morimoto stuff comes as the most recommended for projector retrofits and seems to be good quality.

i didn't know much about the moromoto stuff before this. But i have seen a ton of people using them so it seamed like a safe bet. I got the parts for a SMOKIN' deal from another MC member so i had no choice. I have been very impressed with the light output. i kinda wish i had the 55watt light instead of the 35 watt lights...but hey it was a pkg deal. PLus i'm a bit of a light Nazi. i like obscenely bright headlights.
so i got a set of used tail lights. It was time to make them match the fronts...
about 6 more lights coats then i get to seal them back up.
I've become spoiled by the bixenons on my 3 series BMW, so this is a great option to upgrade the ZJ. Even buying new parts it should cost around $250, and the newest generation D2S Morimoto 35W projectors are broderline illegal on light output. (According to their website.)

I was hoping to win the Mega Millions and just buy your ZJ to add to my ZJ stable lol
I liked seeing you finish the HIDs and actually put them to work after they were sitting in my garage for a while just dying to be built =)
awesome jeep, even better that its a BC Jeep. Terrace here
I want to run coilovers in the front of mine. Looking for mounting ideas. I see that you have some tubing under the hood for mounts but they just vanish to the sides and front. What are they attached to?
How are they tied in to the frame rails?
I will take some more pics for you. The back by the firewall connects to a cross tube that goes from fender to fender. The front has some down bars that connect to the top of the frame rails.
And..... the tranny blew on the jeep. 306xxxkm on it. I knew it was going to go. My last jeep blew a tranny at 275xxxkm. So i knew its time was coming. J20 and I (team #fuckcancer) were planning on doing some trail scouting/exploring on wednesday but instead we are pulling a tranny.
That thing was super clean to start with for the mileage and the area you live. I keep thinking about trying to find a cleaner example to start with.

Thank you sir. I didn't think the fender would be strong enough but there is a fairly solid structure there. Right now I have a clutch reservoir in the way. Good to tie the upper mounts together though.
Tight squeeze up front. Pitman arm 1" from the pumpkin. Thinking of running the draglink behind the tie rod.
i am picking up some tube to do fender bars and maybe even start on my cage. I can take some better pics of the cross bar then.
so found out this tranny had been rebuilt before i bough it. There is a fairly new TCS converter and when my tranny guy took the it apart he found some cheap chinese components.
i ended up breaking the planetary.
I'm picking up a 46RE tomorrow and going to have it rebuilt.
I'm going to be starting to build or at least design a new center console. The discussion about console ideas is here: http://mallcrawlin.com/forum/showthr...-Console-Ideas
