One of the few pics of the inside I have. I made a bracket to hang the heater, the compressor will sit under it. You can see the TV and such to the right, that will all be mounted on the wall eventually.

One other thing I need to figure out, with all of that concrete when the snow melts all the water flows down the side of the house and into the front driveway. The driveway is already almost entirely in the shade and faces northeast, so the snow melts, water runs down, and usually freezes again over night making it slippery as balls. I had a polar bear moment Thursday night, let's just say the new concrete has been impact tested lol. I need to come up with some way to either divert all of the runoff, or just do a better job of clearing the snow off the concrete and let it melt in the yard. Good thing I bought a kickass snowblower couple years ago.

What's a typhoon?

What's the under joist height in there? Have you ever looked for a oil heater? You can burn used oil and it lasts for ever.

I think ceiling height is about 11 ft. I looked at an oil heater, and with the diesel I have a fair amount of used oil, but the initial cost was far higher than the electric.

Got quite a bit done this weekend so far. Finished off all but the last board on the last full wall and all of the electrical. I'll still need to run conduit and such for the lights once the ceiling is in but all the stuff behind the walls is done. Also got the TV mounted up today, Pam said the TV looks kinda small out there so we might get a bigger one. The heater has been working quite well so far too. Hasn't been real cold here, but there's also no ceiling or insulation, just the roof, and there's 3 vents in the roof. Warms it up pretty quick and is much quieter than I expected it to be. Pam and I both have tomorrow off and we're planning on finishing off the rest of the walls, and then start on the insulation and boards for the angled portion of the ceiling. When it comes time to do the full ceiling I'll be renting a drywall lift but since they will mostly be full 4x8's it should go pretty quick.

Need to get some pics but we finished off the walls today and got the angled portion of the ceiling insulated. Need to make a Home Depot run in the truck for more OSB before I can do any more out there. I built a jig make cutting those sections faster. I need 29"x48" sections, 14 of them in total, and my table saw is only good to about 26". Hoping to get that done Saturday.

Looks awesome! That looks identical to the "tent heater" i had from Northern Tool. After almost a decade outside it just about rusted away, but it wasn't exactly a controlled environment, and out here we have this thing called hu-mid-ity. It worked well, often cost a bit more than running propane though, but just flipping a switch is nice.

PS, when are we throwing sharp tools through a piece of wood leaned against the garage?

Looks good, Dave! Are you going to paint the interior? I'd suggest that you consider painting it white, as it really brightens it up and makes it easier to work on things.

Ken, as soon as the ceiling is up we start paint. Going to throw on a coat of primer and then go bright white.

Matt, if you make it out here sometime we'll do it, but we'll just take a little more precaution than last time!

Had a lot of other stuff going on the last few months and got really behind on the shop, and I need to get it up and running pretty soon as wheeling season is approaching. We hired a contractor to help us finish up some of the stuff that requires a little more manpower and equipment than we have access to. They should be done sheathing the ceiling and insulating the attic today. Pam and I are going to go through the shop Saturday and trim out some of the seams and then start painting. My hope is that we can have it completely painted by the end of next weekend. I'd like to get started on grinding and sealing the floor as soon as possible, since once that is done I can start moving everything in. I've got a couple small things I'd like to do to the tow rig and ZJ before GSW, and even though I have around 1100 sq ft of garage space at the house, the only place I can do any work on vehicles right now is outside, lol.

Dave, I have an airless Wagner sprayer if you want to use to use it to paint. Hell of a lot faster and easier than a roller or brush. Just let me know.

Yup, all walls and ceiling will be white, and there will be much more light in there than just one curly fried light bulb.

I almost pulled the trigger on an airless sprayer. But, to do it right on masonry you have to back roll after spraying. Which means someone sprays, then someone else is right behind you with a roller going over what you just sprayed. With no guarantee of a helper I passed and just rolled it. Might give the back-roll a shot on plywood too though. Graco is a great airless sprayer if one is available to you.

Got most of the seams caulked today. Found a ryobi cordless caulking gun at home depot for $40 that uses the same batteries as my drill, made things go a LOT faster. Cleaned out the whole inside too to prep for paint. Might get to start slinging primer tomorrow.
