With the abnormally warm weather we have been having in Denver this February I can't help but think about the myriad of things I need/want to do in the next not quite 4 months.

Chief among them are ensuring my Grand does not forget it's key again.

Little things like ball joints and installing my ford 9 inch are in there too.

Pretty much just need to give the rig a once over and change some fluids and then I'm set. I only got out twice outside of GSW last year. Tow rig will probably see most of the work.

    Sounds so simple...
But that's what I'm doing right now
New axles front and rear full (w/new gears and locker)
    Full hydro steering
    Coilovers in front
    Disc convert in rear
    Amidst a ton of "other"

Build it. Lock it. Crawl it.

That's always the case...to be fair though, I'm not doing coilovers or hydro...front Rubi 44 and rear 9". Brackets, lockers, gears, bolt in. Hopefully, it's not too painful.

I need to adjust my control arm bushings and weld my seat frame. Dare I say that's it for my Jeep. Well see, something else will come up I am sure.

Kyles Jeep we want to put the new rear axle in before GSW. Shouldnt be too hard. I really want to get a Aussie or Spartan for it first.

I should have a low mileage aussie for sale before too long...not sure how long it is going to take to build this 9". Do you just need a locker or a whole 44 assembly?

I am still working on the transmission, if it is nice this weekend I will pull the valve body. I want to get the awning done, front winch bumper, and a few other cool things like an ARB up front (have one in an axle on the floor) and OBA (compressor on the shelf for 10 years. But ensuring it will move under its own power reliably would be nice.

EDIT: I need to get my steering box replaced too. I have to get my steering box back first though Jim.

Ken - it's supposed to be nice and shitty this weekend

I was just at CDPHE this morning...in Glendale...and I thought of you...after I stubbed my toe on your steering box in the garage tonight

For me, some o-ring work on the tow rig, finish the HPOP stuff and get rid of the last of the leaks

    For the Jeep:
Finish the steering install on the ZJ, RuffStuff shipped the TRE I needed today
Decide whether to ditch the adjustable balljoints or set them to zero caster correction (to fit the steering)
Replace the overdrive solenoid in the trans to get the trouble code to go the hell away
Put in an Exploder evap canister....to get the trouble code and CEL to go the hell away

Other than that, it's annual fluid changes (diffs, crankcase, TC, DOT3)....

    And 35s!!!

    Replace Blown engine, Done.
    New wheels and tires, Done.

I spent as much on the Jeep this year as when I first did the lift and went to 35s, just so that I can go out and hang with some fools in the desert for a week.

Still haven't even touched the ZJ outside of moving it out of the way to work on the truck. With buying the camper the truck has gotten a lot work, new power steering pump, shocks, tires, ball joints, hub, new fluids all around, but the truck is in better shape than it has been in a long time.

I got the valve body back in last night and drove it around, seems ok. But, it did that last time too. I will be dd'ing it for a few weeks to test it/break it so I can get it fixed.

Dave I may take you up on the offer to help with repairs, my steering is a bit loose.

Jim let me know when I can stop by and grab that steering box.

gears and lockers are installed. Rear brackets are all tacked on...heading over to Neil's soon for him to burn 'em home. Then finish the rear long arms, install ARB compressor, etc. and be ready to roll. Rear 44 should be coming out Weds...

Ken, just let me know. Weekends are filling up pretty quickly, but it shouldn't take long to figure out why it's loose.

Sounds good Ken, Bridget is home most days, but she's starting a part time job in Cherry Creek pretty soon. If you can't make it up here or I can't make it down there, she'll be dang close to CDPHE and I can wrap it up and put it in the Saturn.

    Here's my to-do

Gotta make these fit better. Mr Grinder and I may have some social time

Push the rear axle back some more, fix the pinion angle and slap in the 2" pucks instead of the 1" ones to fix the rear bumper sag.

Other than that, it's annual fluids and maybe shocks. Tires for the trailer too.

Ok, we finished Kyle's Jeep. Chased some gremlins repplacing sensors and also replaced the fuel pump n filter. Runs like a champ now, but he spent several hundered bucks out of a college kids budget. So this limited overall what he had planned to do with it for Moab.

I have not started on my Jeep, I pick up the socket tomorrow to adjust my control arms and have to fix my seat. Thats about all I need to do, but its been pretty busy lately so hope to squeeze this in next weekend.

Ken - we never did catch up. Bridget's working at the Cherry Creek Sears, so she's in the neighborhood sometimes. Let me know when we can get that sucker to you.

1 ton Ruffstuff steering is in, but I over-reamed the driver knuckle. Got a spare from Dave, but looks like it's thrashed. Brakes won't bolt on

I'll see if fresh caliper bolts will solve it, otherwise off to the junkyard for a knuckle. Getting my money's worth for that Snap-On mechanic's reamer

Stretched the rear axle back and the front axle forward, also had Bridget pick up a bag of hockey pucks for bumpstops. Moving the rear axle back reached the limit of the slip yoke, so I had Rocky Mountain Driveline retube the driveshaft. They do GREAT work BTW.

Time for fluids and a bath, tires for the trailer too. Need to clean up the rear diff cover I got at the yard and make it purdy so I can wreck it

Sorry, my arm has been killing me and I have been busy sitting on the couch in pain. I have been working half days so I am off around lunch everyday. Let me know what works for her.

Trans is back together and took me to work a few times, still worries me.

Jim, it might just need the threads cleaned out a bit?

Ken, I could probably lend a hand the weekend of the 31st/1st, but that's about it at this point. Let me know!

The only thing I've done to the ZJ is put a new battery in it and moved it out of the garage to get the truck in there. Truck has gotten new ps pump, gear box, ball joints, hubs, and I feel like a couple other of things too that I'm forgetting. I'm looking forward to getting back to working on the ZJ. The steering box took me WAY too long on the truck, it's like a 45 minute job on the ZJ.

Jim, Can you use an insert? http://www.ruffstuffspecialties.com/.../inssteer.html

Installed the alloy shafts in to the rear 8.8. Working out the bugs in the sloppy steering. I hope to have time to swap in the 231 that I built last year and never installed. Only 3 weekends to go!
