Well we're half way to GSSE 2014!

We've been talking about it for a couple of years and the idea is getting some traction with the core group so we wanted to present the idea to you guys...

We would like to move GSSE 14 to Golden Mtn Park in Sparta TN..

Since we held GSSE-W there a few years back this park has rapidly become my favorite place to ride.

The there are trails for everyone from open diffs to bounty hills..
There are bunkhouses available inside the park as well as pavilions with power, running water and close proximity to restrooms and bathhouses…
The park is approximately 550 acres spiderwebbed with trails.
Parts stores are less than 20 minutes away..
Almost every time we've been to GMP we are the only ones in the park and pretty much have run of the place..
rules are a bit more relaxed and the wheeling is positively badass!

What we'd like to do is have a pavilion rented for the group as a central camp/hangout/garage. Those that want to camp out can pile in and around the pavilions and those that want bunkhouses can do that too all within the park.. the group won't get divided up the way it tends to at Harlan..

The main reasons for moving away from Harlan are that nothings changed up there in forever, most of us are burnt out on running the same trails.. travel times should be the same or less for most of our regulars.. GMP offers quite a bit more privacy for shenanigans and all the trails are super close to camp so no hour long drive out to lions den just to do one trail and come back..

The only downside to GMP is when its wet, you best stay in camp because the mud is the slickest substance on earth but it dries out pretty quickly and its easy to get a lot of wheeling done once it dries out..

To me the only downside to moving GSSE away from Harlan is not having an 18/hr day full service restaurant in camp.

That said GMP f-ing rocks and this will be an awesome event. GMP has amenities galore (think abandoned summer camp) with tons of awesome trails in a nice compact area without being completely on top of each other.

I'm all for GMP. I've been wanting to check that park for a while so this would be as good a reason as any. Is it too early to say roughly what the dates would be?

I haven't made it to one yet, I'm going to try plan for it. It's early enough to be before we have to move one of our kids to college.
