I have this build on another forum, but thought I would put it up here also and see if I get other thoughts, opinions, or ideas. So, I bought this Jeep to meet the family camping/wheeling needs. My wife picked it out. Its an 02 Laredo Sport 4.7 V8, 242hd tc, leather, sunroof. Got it with 98,000mi on it. I had a 93 Chevy 1500 silverado as the family wheeler, but we quickly out grew it and needed something more kid friendly. So the Plan was to take everything from my built Chevy and put it into the WJ.

Whats under the Chevy:
Front: HP D60 5.13 gears ARB airlocker 35 spline hub shafts
Rear: 14b 5.13's and a yukon grizzly locker
4-link front suspension
63" leafs in the rear
42" Good Year MTRs with Kevlar
17x9 Stazwork double beadlocks

i started tearing the Dana 60 ,14 bolt, control arms and leafs out of the Chevy maybe a month after we bought the jeep. And pillaged the truck for everything that was left in and on it that I could re-use.

Thanks. Me too, I loved my truck, it was a little more challenging to navigate through the rocks but was a great truck, ran well and was easy to work on. I miss it.

Next i took the jeep and all my parts to a local 4x4 shop to have the suspension installed. I dont have the tools, time or skills to set up the 4-link so i took it to precision welding, they hooked me up. We discussed everything i wanted and he made it happen. Original ride height was supposed to be lower but do to exhaust, oil pan, a tall truss and triangulated 4-link design they got it as low as they could without rebuilding the truss and control arm design. They finished up and i drove it home to finish up everything else.[/URL[/URL[/URL

You win the award for largest tire, and least amount of trim

Pics of the suspension and how everything is mounted?

So im running 5.5in wild horse coils on a triangulated 4-link. And the rear is 63in chevy leaf springs. I cut and raised the gas tank, but left enough room for onboard air and a few other necessities. The 242hd has a sye. Next i started on the rear bumper. And hydro assist.

I got a ticket so I finally did all the trimming I needed and added fender flares, they are not made for a wj.

Thanks guys. I do rocks, snow and trails. No real mud. I have a few more things to add to this thread when I get some time, but as for the jeep, next I would like to build a cage like josh baker or A.pancake maybe a doubler, it's never ending.

If you need an engine hoist to position your winch, you need a smaller winch That thing is huge.

Edit, nevermind. Looks like you had your bumper attached to it as well. Still a huge winch.

Yea it's the winch and bumper, also not an engine hoist. It's a disabled person hoist left by the previous owner of my house haha. The winch is huge but a very good dependable winch.

Any chance I could get ya to take a couple pictures of how they mounted the leaf springs, and the shackles? I'm considering doing leaves on the rear of ZJ due to my limited budget.
