Of course once again lets get this one going!
Tues we did some moab exploring down by Kens lake!
Well where are the pictures for those of us unable to be there?
Should be a lot of pics coming through soon. Been another great year. We even saw a prototype ZJK on Metal Masher today.
Here's a couple pics I have on my phone, have a ton more on the camera but won't be able to get them posted until we get back.
Ted coming down the Z-turn on Moab Rim. Slight dimple in the body just below the B-pillar on both sides.
A few from fins and some from the rim. The silver dubjay on the rim rocked right up it on new jk axles with lockers not hooked up yet, and I think he was a first-timer on the rim like me; but I couldn't tell!
Jim Karlin playing on fins, his jeep looks a lot like mine used to. I almost jumped in a few times.

Kevin and Putz working on their dance routine
Cody spotting me up the Gate
Krash in the gate
goldensd in the Gate
Random 4Runner that thought it would be a good idea to run the gate
Krash on Go Go Go Stop Stop Stop
Not sure what Ryan is in the middle of doing here, but he looks guilty
More hot sun
Dragon's Tail
Krash in Escalator
Tipover
Gettin' flexy on the exit
Heading to Metal Masher on Saturday. First time I've ever ran the trail as I had always heard it's a lot of driving for just a couple obstacles. I think that might still hold true for the trail after the overlook, but up to the overlook it is a great trail with a fair amount of challenges. There's some quick exits too to bypass some of the second half if you wish.
Justin driving Verlan's rig up Rock Chucker, made it look WAY too easy.
We figured no front locker would make it a bit more challenging so we gave it a go.
Definitely didn't make it up anywhere as close to as easy as Justin did, but still stoked we got up it.
The prototype ZJK made an appearance.
Scenery from the overlook.
Dave, get any of me on the gate?
Without Liz this year I pulled in a lot fewer pics than normal. I'll work on a video which I took a lot more of this year than the past.
John breaking down the front-half of his NP231. Had it repaired the next day and wheeled Cliff Hanger starting at ~4pm.
Kevin on his way up Poison Spider
Up a ledge (not sure of the obstacles name)
Sean doing the same
Our only carnage for the trail - his spring kept popping out. After two times, we reconnected the anti-sway bar and continued without further incidents.
Sean passing through the Wedgie
Seans turn
Heading up the Wedge
Beautiful day and view
Corbin's Turn
Kevin too
For some reason Kevin attaches a tripod, then picks it all up to take a picture
Headed back down the "left" turn. Justin our fearless leader almost endo'ed here.
Hells Revenge. Dave, Kevin, Putz, Ron, Sean, Keith, Corbin, and myself.
I think Corbin's Jeep (right) and my Jeep (left) are nicely inverse of each others color schemes.
Ron headed up Hells Gate
Sean you're up
View from the overlook on Moab Rim.
Corbin headed down the Z-turn
Todd coming down Devils Crack (I think that is what it is called?)
Troy flexing just after the Crack.
Looking back at Poison Spider's Mini-Arch from Moab Rim
OK, I finally got what few pics I took uploaded. Since I had trouble getting through the Barstow-Las Vegas area again this year and the ZJ was running on the hot side, I decided to just run easy, scenic trails. So with that said, here goes.
On Thursday, some of us drove up to Gemini Bridges, played around for awhile, had lunch and came back to town around 2-2:30pm:
On Friday, a group of us ran a new (to GSW) trail, Flat Iron Mesa. Wells' book rates it as "difficult", and we only ran the first part on this trip due to a mechanical issue with one of the rigs, but it was fun and made a full day. Need to go back and do the rest of this one.
and a vid from my dash cam on The Chute:
More to come...
nice pics guys. awesome ones of metal masher.
Gotcha, figured it was something like that. We got a polarized filter for our camera and used it last year, but it was a cheapo one and we'd get some faded lines in the picture if we didn't have it rotated right.
I sure appreciate all the pics that ya'll posted from this years run. If I can get my head straight, I'll be there next year so I won't have to live it through the pics that everybody posts.
Some random phone pics...have lots more on Carla's camera, but those may take awhile to get posted, cause I'm slow like that.
