I think we've got his bugs worked out. His pump died in the flatts from metal shavings from the broken steering gear tooth. He got a rebuilt pump that was bad in the box. Got another pump it lasted 30 minutes. Got another pump and rigged up a fuel filter as a steering filter. That pump works for now but a hydro assist line blew in half. He has replaced the hydraulic lines and all seems good now.

I've just got some minor maintenance to do on everything and I'll be ready to try out the rebuilt tow rig engine

Stay dry Pearce. It's rainy up here.

Hopefully the showers rolling through will keep the Harlan dust down for a few days.

Man I'm upset I couldn't go. Did Kirby make it up the entrance of Lions Den? I've always wanted to see someone run it backwards.

Naw, didn't make it up. But a valiant effort. Went pretty smooth running through till getting to the entrance backwards.

It's nice to have my shitty driving and busted tow rig all documented in one place!

I'm just glad we made it home. The trip was fun but the trip home was not. Pearce thanks again for helping me fix it and doing the parts runs right before all the stores closed Sunday. The silver lining is I have dremel(s) to bring on wheeling trips now.

Hopefully it was just my turn to hear the pow sound and next trip will go smoother. A little more tow rig maintenance shouldn't hurt...

Fortunately the failure happened close enough to civilization to get to northern tool before they closed. Needless to say I'm glad it all worked out...

Holy crap. That is a pretty crappy return trip home. I guess since I wasn't there to break everything this year some one else had to do it. Lets not forget your stub shaft too. Thanks for letting me ride by the way. I have some videos and pics but haven't looked at them yet. Maybe I'll get a chance this week before my vacation again next weekend..sans jeep..again. Too bad it we didn't get any pics of the bottomless troll pit from saturday night right before everybody tried to drive off the side of the mountain on that grassy bit of non-trail. Was good to see everybody again. Maybe a flats run later this year?

Looks like fun (thought not the tow vehicle issues)! Maybe one of these days I'll finish by build and make it back down (though I need to actually work on it to finish it).

Sean, I enjoyed having you ride along and provide color commentary and a hand fixing some of the broken parts. Next time you guys need to stay at the campground so I don't have to drive carpool in the pouring rain. You lucked out though not having to deal with the tow rig repair. Post up those pics when you can.
