Tow rig HPOP reseal may be turning into full HPOP replacement...fawk
I had the friggin thing almost done, then discovered a crack in the housing.
At least the Heep is pretty much ready, just alignment/balljoints, tighten up the suspension bolts and top off the rear diff. Oh yeah....smog test and tags - crapola.
Jim, you might want to make sure that your spring retainers are tight too!
Dave, it is. Not sure if I'll be able to make it again this year though; I'm looking at switching jobs. Should have an offer this afternoon actually. Between that, Kim's new job that she only has 2 weeks of vacation this year, and my first grandchild coming along any day now, (daughter lives in WI) time off for GSW is in short supply.
Ken, good luck on the job change,
We need to get lunch again soon. I am on the road for two weeks starting Saturday, but after that??
Well the 5.9 passed emissions. However when changing back to the 35's. I noticed something. Both left wheels are bent & cracked along the rim. I guess it's one more reason not to hot rod out on the High Speed Mesa & other places. It must have happened the year before last because last year I took it easy..
I still need to install my PSC steering box after it get's rebuilt. I Have to get it sent in Mon. Maybe will get to the rock lights too.

Shorter front shocks, alloy shafts for the dana 44, build or have cage built, get lots of shit done at work so I can go. Doesn't look like I'm going to make it, haven't done the grand slam west since 07!
HPOP and fuel bowl rebuild are done on the tow rig. I've got a drip on the passenger side next to the flywheel inspection plate, but I'm thinking it's draining out from the valley. Didn't get enough rags in there to soak it all up I'm thinking.
Brake pads on the front, and it'll be ready to rock and roll. - DONE
The Heep needs the belly pan bolted back up, top off the rear diff, smog test and tags. rock lights are soldered, need to get a junction box for the wiring.
1 month to go!

I built my cross member and long arm mounts Friday, got it welded on. Now I just need to build the arms. I need a few more parts first.
So MUCH to do. So little time. Every time I look at ol' red the to-do list gets longer. Where to begin? Start on something and the phone rings. Another flooded house. Being on call sucks. Trip's paid for but Jeep's like "Um, hey man..." Had time this weekend and water pump shit the bed on my dd 5.2. There went $150 and six hours. Tick. Tock.
I went to change my rear diff fluid and found the bottom bolt on the cover rounded off (from rocks). Looks like I'll be replacing them with some hex bolts when I get that bolt removed some day.
So who has the best method to remove the stripped bolt?
I can't.
Next?
Pound a smaller, disposable (HF) socket onto it.
Like John said, just because it is aluminum...getting kind of thin down there and just a matter of time until I peal away the cover:/
I think I am going to go down the easy out route.
I returned my welding tank a couple months ago since I have been renting it and not using it for too long. I am not able/willing to spend the cash on buying a new tank right now.
No welder?
Drive over to the local muffler shop and ask them to weld a bolt/nut to it. Give the guy a few bucks (cash). Drive home and remove.
I have a welder, just no gas [tank]
Wouldn't be surprised if you could still get enough of a weld on there for your purposes. I've welded a couple things forgetting to turn on the gas.
Good point - doesn't need to be a clean weld.
