Dana 44 is trussed, bracketed, and new 8 lug Calipers are on the way. Knuckles are machined, high steer arms attached, axle shafts are ready. Just need to have the thing re-geared and either an ARB or Zip locker thrown in. I'm really getting down to the wire on this one. Could be close.

Wheels just showed up today, wheel bearings tomorrow. DEI wrap to go on fuel rails tomorrow, along with air scoop.

Still have to build tube doors, too.

Oh shit! And I need a compressor, or maybe run the ARB off my CO2 for a pinch fix.

Think I could just use a globe valve to actuate it with the CO2?

You loosen the first quadrillion foot-pounds of torque, and I'll finish up on the last 30 foot-pounds. Just 'cause I'm a nice guy and I like to help

Pull stock axles, install JK 44's and wire them in, trim one rear fender (just did the other side), install taurus fan and relocate the EVAP system.

That's a lot of work with just a few days over 2 weeks to go. How is the progress going?

After thinking I would be buried in my ZJ I guess a standard coffin will have to do...traded my ZJ for a pretty cherry 2004 WJ...so, I guess my to-do list really only has one thing on it:

    Build a WJ.

    Welcome to the WJ world!
You have 2 weeks to build it, no problem.
You can always run the easy runs, it's like starting over.

It will be good! I'm still torn on whether or not it was a good call but it sure is cozy compared to the ZJ.

Rear axle is in, front goes in tonight, starting taurus fan tomorrow but it may take a few days since I have to change the powersteering pump to make it work properly(goodbye hydro-fan!), fenders have been trimmed and im still trying to figure out the EVAP re-location. It only needs to move like an inch and a half and it would be out of the way.
I do have a small hiccup with the steering but I think i've got it figured out, just drill bigger holes and use larger heims!

Jeep's as done as it can be now. My timing chain cover is leaky, so I'll just have to make sure my coolant overflow stays full...no time to tear down the entire front end of the engine.

New balljoints made the alignment numbers look a million times better, and it drives a fawk of a lot better now too...can't beat it.

Time to load up the tools and spares. Camping with the family this coming weekend, then one more Saturday to stare at it wondering if I missed anything

John, I had spare Ultra Stars so no biggy. That guy on Co. 4X4 is nuts if he thinks I'll pay a $100 a wheel & tire. The Tires are 12 or so years old. Years ago I only paid like 30 a wheel & tire when I got my extras.

So this weekend while Jim & I were doing my PSC Steering box Jim noticed the front right shock was blown. Last year a rear one was blown

I have a new one now. Nice to get replacements for free. Just got to get it on later today with new JKS Bar Pin elim. & JKS upper shock converter. The old stuff is very rusted.

Well....l have joined the last minute club. I re did my front side axle mounts and improved the geometry on my front uppers. It wasent enough. I aced another set of bushings running 1/2 of spring creek. I ordered new bushongs and weld on housings from Clayton. Didn't think about expediting shipping so I won't get my parts till Monday. On the bright side it only took about 45 minutes to remove my front lowers.

Well my front LCA's have an issue with broken bushings so an IRO long arm kit is on it's two day travels today, thanks Darrick, so my weekend will be busy installing it. I should have known that last year's not having to build, mod or fix anything before GSW was going to come back on me. Not that I didn't check stuff and do the basic maintenance. Oh well, it was time for long arms anyway and IRO is a sponsor. I need to make an appointment with the front end alignment guy for Tuesday now too.

Also taking this opportunity to install the power steering cooler since it has been sitting in the garage for a couple of years. Needed to change the power steering fluid anyway.

Rebuild my front axle shaft u-joints too and put them back in.

Going to be close, but everything will work out.

    Rear sway bar re-installed.
    O2 sensor replaced.
    Air filter cleaned and oiled.
    Engine oil changed.
    Oils topped off.

Just need to grease everything, and probably rotates the tires, and I am set to go

Just finished packing and loading up, we're going to roll out first thing tomorrow and plan to get to Moab early to check out some of the other parks.

My prep list included adding a rear anti-rock, finally painting my rear bumper, redoing rear bump stops/limit straps, and the usual grease/oil and try to tighten every thing up.

See you all in a few days.

    Safe travels!

I pick up the ZJ from the front end alignment and suspension guy tomorrow morning and then pack the ZJ up, attach the trailer and head to Moab. The IRO 5.5" LA Critical Path Kit will be installed. Power steering fluid cooler and filter are installed and fluid got a badly needed change/flush.

Jeep's on the trailer, just have the people stuff to pack up. Hoping to leave Denver around 10:30 tomorrow so Scott can make wings at the brewery

The Jeep pretty much jumped up there. Easiest load I've had yet.

Also - does anybody have contact info for Ken De Boer in Phoenix (Nakidgun - White 5.9)? I need some transport help if possible.

The good, bad & ugly. The Good- Got four new tires mounted & balanced, new long arm bushings installed, changed the oil & filter and the A/C charged and blowing cold, Nice! We are ready for Moab! Today (Tuesday morning) came home from work and got the Jeep loaded up and ready to go, got on the road around 2:00 pm, all is good and the Jeep is riding smooth and going straight down the road. Now this is were the ugly part comes into play- about an hour into our drive up the hill and into the Sierra Mountains my idler pulley bearing locked up, fan belt shredded and put a hole in my radiator !!! Now home at 9:00 pm, jeeps unloaded and we are drinking beer! The Bad- it looks like we will have to wait to see everyone next year, time for another BEER!
