IRO coils comin. There only 3.5 coils. Debating on putting the 1.5 spacers I have now in with the 3.5 coils. I dont think the stock CA's will be sufficient at this point though. If I did, should I drop the T case 1"?
Stock CA's will be horrible at 5" of lift. And a t-case drop on a ZJ is counterproductive. The rear driveshaft is plenty long to not need this, and if you drop the t-case 1", sure the rear angle gets better, but you just made the front angle worse, and you have other alignment specs to worry about up front too.

Next time if you want 5" of lift, buy 5" coils
true on the extra lift. I suppose I'll just sell off the booster spacers I have then.
well according to fed ex, my springs are on my porch. They arn't doing me any good sitting there so Sunday I'll be installing them. Should be pretty easy.
I just put adj front lower control arms on my 4" of lift and it helps quite a bit in ride comfort.
IRO delivered on time. Easy to work with and even labeled the springs so theres no guessing. I got my trac bar brackets from fat Bobs also. These are some HD pieces and should be sufficient with the mild trails I hot when I'm goin out hunting.
Starting with this and eliminating the F to R swap and spacers up front.

These trac bar brackets are beefy. I'll prob bolt and stitch weld them on for rigidity
rear track bar bracket, worst idea of a product ever, even if you burn it in all the way around every inch you can, it still flexes and the tail wags the dog

Before I knew any better I used a track bar bracket when I first installed my 3" kit and man was that a mistake.. I welded it on the stock bracket and one day going around a sharp curve by my old house it made a nasty snap pop noise when I got home I found the bracket and bar hanging there.. welded my stock bracket back on and got an adjustable. sooo much better.

Yep I agree with these guys, i've come across one situation where the extension bracket was tight, but the added leverage started to rip the oem mount. The concept of having the track bar up higher and closer to level is definately a good thing (higher roll center, less body roll), but to be done right you need to replace the oem mount with something more solid
yeah I looked at the factory rear TB and I think I'll try and strengthen that too. I just dont have the coin for adjustable front and rear TB's right now
So the lift is done. Went great. Installed and welded in the track bar brackets. Lifted nice and drives good except I have bump steer now that I never had before with my F to R swap and spacers. The death wobble is gone but now the bump steer is definitely an issue. Looks like my shocks are pretty weak also. Those will be next but what causes the bump steer?
Bumpsteer is caused my misalignment of the drag link and trackbar. I'm willing to bet if you used a trackbar bracket in the front it shifted it over enough that it's no longer parallel with the drag link.
You're running a drop bracket on the front trackbar, right?
Yup, dropped pahnard bracket and stock steering geometry = bump steer (along with a lower roll center). I don't know how or why companies still sell the stupid things.
The increased angle takes away that much more droop front the passenger front before the stock drag link binds. The rear will only flex and rip the stock mount off the axle - it doesn't matter how securely the aftermarket bracket is attached to the stock one, the stock mount will flex and fail.
As said before for years on here and in this thread, ditch the brackets and notch the front mount if need be for travel. There is zero need for the brackets - they only cause problems. You can extend your rear panhard bar by sleeving it if you really want to. Save up if you have to and buy or make an adjustable front bar and mount that does away with the TRE style end. Really, the axles don't care if they're 3/4" off from being centered at ride height because of a lift and stock-length panhard bars. Unless you're running extended bumpstops, they'll end up centered when the suspension compresses where tire clearance is most important.

I didnt get a pic last night but the look pretty parallel to me. I'm still leaning toward the TB bracket being the cause. Thats the only major steering item that was altered. I'll try to get a pic for Friday
OK get this crap. Like previously stated, I installed a drop bracket on the front for the track bar. Bolted and welded in place. Fit like a charm. Drove and had crappy bump steer. Hated it
so next, I removed the bracket, welded up the hole and redrilled the track bar bracket hole top line up. Bolted up the trac bar and the bump steer is gone!!! YEAH but now I have DW AGAIN......
I'd bet it's because you're back to the stock trackbar mounting location (which isn't the issue), but you're using a stock trackbar. Sometimes it pays to do it right and spend a little extra coin the first time, saving yourself the pain and costs of redo-ing something that you initially cheaped out on.
Wait you got a bracket that drops the axle side mount lower? That seems completely counter productive...on the front most drop TB kits drop the frame side to bring the track bar closer to parallel...not further from it. I don't know exactly what's gong on there but stock is definately better than the way ya had it
