See ya when you get in brudda.
I know people are busy but is there going to be a sign up website again?
Any idea of the trail options?
Rego site will be up on Sunday - I wanted to finalize the shirt design first. Other info can be found at http://gsw.mallcrawlin.com
Are there any options for camping at/near Moab? Since I'm probably driving out for GSW and the Redstone is booked, I figjured I'd camp. I'll probably be with my brother, and we don't mind camping at all.
PLENTY of places to camp, from established KOA-style campgrounds to dispersed wilderness. There's a campground just south of the Redstone that offers showers and toilets, and is within walking/stumbling distance of the Redstone and Moab Brewery.
It is called Canyonlands. There should be tent sites available, but the cabins may be full.
I reeeeeaaaaaalllllllly want to get back to GSW this year, been gone too long. And, if Ron is back, nostalgia must be in this summer, so maybe I can fit in. Somebody find me a WJ to buy soon, or I will be forced to steal my brother's ZJ.
Do eet!!!
Registration site link is active on the information site: http://www.grandslamwest.org
Gary is right - trail options are filtered based on the capabilities of your Jeep.
Putz needs to come out early...bang out Claytons 2 days prior
I'm sure there will be room on the Fins N Things run
I dont really talk much on these threads but was kinda thinking of going to this nit sure where I should stay at hoe is this event for someone like me who doesnt know anyone that will be there
It would probably be just me and my daughter
Oh by the way my zj is on 35's locked and geared and I will probably most likely driving it from vegas since I dont have a tow rig and its a daily driver
Getting to know the people you talk to online is the whole point. Riding some killers trails is just a bonus. As to where to stay google can solve that for you or just look at some of the treads here and you will see where people are staying. There is camping, hotels(get booking now they sell out fast in the summer), primitive camping in places like Canyonlands....
Most people try to stay at the Redstone Inn, but that's probably already booked out. They have a sister property across the street called the Big Horn Lodge. Both properties are centrally located (can walk instead of drive if you wish), reasonably priced (for Moab at high season) and clean.
This is a very friendly event - Most of us consider it a family reunion of sorts.
We love seeing new faces, and all are welcome.
I won't be going to GSW this year, so today I'll be canceling my room at the Red Stone Inn. The days that I have booked are for four nights, from 5 to 9 June. I hope that there is a wait list, and that someone who is going, will be able to get the room. I had a good time last year, even though I bent the uinbody on Rose Garden Hill. I have to see if I can make it next year.
All registered and ready to go. Cheapest room I could find was at Rodeway Inn for the 6th-9th. $400. There goes my Jeep allowance for awhile, lol. But with 2 kids and a wife along for 3 days camping would have been a MAJOR P I T A...and the Rodeway has a hot tub and waterslide. And yeah, I did choose one short, easy trail...the wife is having a huge backpiece done and it's gonna be raw and fresh. Gonna need a whole lotta lotioning after a day on the trail
