Just a quick heads up for those planning to run Elephant Hill. I had thought our BLM permit would cover admission in to Canyonlands N.P., but it does not look like it will. If you do not have one of the Federal Lands Passes, it will be an additional $10/vehicle for entrance into Canyonlands. The pass is good for 7 days, so if you plan on visiting other areas of Canyonlands you can use it for that too.

I don't know which day people are running Elephant Hill, but Saturday (june 9th) is a free day for all national parks.

We were planning on Thursday, need to be back a little earlier than EH would allow us on Saturday for Pizza in the Park.

Dave, that is correct. The permit does include the Sand Flats Fee area though so Hell's Revenge is covered by permit fees.

The same day we will leave late from the pancake breakfast?

I am thinking of trailering my rig down there. Several reasons, bad luck from the last time there, my Jeep is bad luck. Anyone else gonna trailer there? We had one last time.

Ken, I'll be trailering down as well. There's an area just outside the NP with plenty of trailer parking.

Another quick heads up for those wanting to run EH. We will be leaving the breakfast by 10AM, please have your tires aired UP, full tank of fuel, and swaybars connected BEFORE you go to the breakfast as we will be departing directly from the breakfast. It's approx 80 miles down to the trail, but the trail itself is pretty short and smooth, so we should make decent time.
