Would putting MC on a virtual private server all by itself at hostgator make it any better?

Yes and no - I made a lot of tweaks that'll alleviate this issue hugely, we should talk in the next couple of weeks, but you're closing on a house, I'm closing on another deal, the forum is 99.9% happy so let's talk in a week or two when I have more time to think about it a lil!

The problem is just intermittent and is perfectly easy enough to work around, so (as a user) I am content with that plan. Thanks for looking into this.

The site was probably slow for the last half hour... I worked with a database administrator (this is over my head at this point) converting and optimizing the tables so that it should be more efficient in this shared hosting environment to buy us a lot of time. I expect the issue to happen rarely, if at all, for quite awhile.

As payment - someone buy my Effin Samurai!

Seems to be working well here, even on my slow work computer. Still a bit slow on Tapatalk but that could be contributed to cell connection too.

I was getting a "bandwidth exceeded" message yesterday, but everything seems good today. Thanks for the effort to get everything up to speed.

That error was my fault. In my rush to fix everything up, I missed a "0" at the end of the bandwidth limits. Overwhelmed is an understatement right now, I hope that's the only mistake I make!

We had been getting a ton database errors over the last few days, and most appeared to be from bots/spiders but a few may have been from people using the site. If anything pops up over the next few days please post up.

    Thanks guys!

Dave, since that last small update a few days ago, we no longer have the MC icon up top....

I haven't had any issues with having to reload pages though!

I thought I noticed that too. Been spending most of my board time on IE6 (stupid work computers) that don't have favicons. I did the update during a fantasy draft the other night and must have written over the file somehow, or the new version of vb includes it's own or something. I'll try to peak at it tonight, should just be a quick upload.
