1965 Mustang.
289 V8 Automatic
I bought it from a friend who bought it in 1975 from his uncle who bought it new in 1965.
It needs just a few things like the front seats done etc.

Very excited as it is very similar to my first car.

No it was repainted about 10 years ago. The paint still looks fresh as it has been parked in the garage and mostly driven on the weekends since the paint job.
Score! Nice Mustang.
You gonna keep it like it is?
Thanks,
It will stay pretty much the same. I need to put all the badging on the outside and do the interior touch ups. I am going to dress up the engine bay a bit too. I may change the exhaust system.
The interior will be converted to Pony Seats and I will do a 4 channel stereo system with subs behind the rear seat. They make some pretty trick retro stereos these days that have Ipod inputs on them.
Other than some maintenance and repairs that will be pretty much it.
Do you have to run lead additive or has the engine been rebuilt? Sweet ride... my neighbor has a 68 and is slowly rebuilding it, they are fun cars to work on (no computer crap).
Nice! Very clean. My dad has a 66 with the 289 and 3-speed that he's been working on for a few years now, hopefully someday it'll turn up looking as good as this one.
I prefer 66s as they have many things standard that were options in 65. Either way I am good.
The engine was rebuilt in 93 and has the hardened valve seats etc, so unleaded is not a problem. In most cases you can run unleaded in older engines with out the hardend seats, unless you are doing a lot of towning or racing etc. The exhaust valves can stick without the lead in the fuel when pushed hard and ultimately you can burn an exhaust valve. Anyway I am good on this one.
Sexy looking car man! I love old mustangs.
