Got a hole in my power steering high pressure line. Sandy had the parts to patch it.

    Thanks Sandy.

For the dead spot, check your trackbar bushings. Doubt it's the brand new steering. And double check your rear driveshaft, you took some paint off it in a few places.

Havent gotten too deep into checking it out, but it looks like the steering just needs to be tightened up, and Im thinking the drive shaft is the issue...too sore to crawl under and work on it, so it will have to wait till I get back from north Dakota...

I don't suggest lurking behind Ken's ZJ. He proved once again this weekend how dangerous that can be.

I would switch to a low pinion and be done with it.
Get a new driveshaft to match, since you need a one anyways.

I know i've seen it before but can't remember, this is a rear application right? If it is, I agree on going low pinion. The LP gears hold up much better in a rear, you just have to be wary of the driveshafts haha, I seem to go through rears like nobodys business :P.

Pretty good carnage report from this gears GSW it seems!

Yeah, it is a rear app. I am kinda leaning towards a truehi9. I used to hate eating driveshats...have not touched one since going HP in the rear. Cost difference is only ~$500 bucks...

The clicking noise is not the hubs. I pulled both last night, they look fine.

I almost ripped the driver's lower shock mount off the front axle. A 1/2" wide strip of metal is "pealed" off the spring pearch as well. I wondering if the clicking was the slow shearing of the metal. It looks like someone used a can opener on the shock mount and spring perch. I'll snap a pic.

After I find the clicking noise it's off the the frame straightening shop.

Are you going to get a body lift when you get your frame straightened?

Nope, smart ass. The frame shop works on unibody rigs too.

Took the shock off the "pealed" mount. No change. Single shear mount needs to be replaced with a double shear mount.

Replaced both front hubs, but not the problem. The driver side was broken. It was very subtle you could see the cracks, so I took it apart and it fell into three pieces. Took the hubs to 4WheelParts and swapped straight across for a new set. Nice!

Put my spare rear drive shaft on, no change.

Only things that still rotate that could clunk during decel and not during acel are the transmission (which I would suspect would slip and not clunk), the t-case and the rear R&P (which I would suspect would clunk during acel and decel, not just decel).

Feels and sounds like the t-case is trying too shift into another range. I guess it's time to take the T-case apart and peak inside.

Is it front or rear? Can you get it off the ground and try to replicate it? If you need a hand call Ryan, and me next!

Front or Rear??? That's a good idea, I could put it on 4 jack stands and see if I can replicate it. Thanks for the offer, might take you up on that next week.
